‘God is angry with Liberia,’ local religious leaders say, blaming Ebola on ‘homosexualism’
Washington Post ^ | 8/6/2014 | Terrence McCoy

Amid the reports emerging out of Liberia, it’s difficult to discern what is true and what isn’t. But the fear they carry is undeniable: Fear of the disease, fear of dead bodies, fear that God himself has sent down a terrible plague to blight the people of Liberia for their transgressions.

There are local reports that “armed men” are allegedly trying to poison wells “to kill in the name of Ebola.” There are reports that the government is dumping bodies by the truckload at a mass grave on the west bank of a river and nearby residents fret over water contamination. And there are Reuters reports of bodies lying in the streets of Liberia’s capital Monrovia for days.

The Ebola pandemic — which has killed 887 in West Africa including 255 in Liberia — has terrified people so much that some local leaders discern divine meaning in it. According to Front Page Africa and the Daily Observer, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf called on Tuesday for all residents to fast for three days and pray for forgiveness.

“Relying on His divine guidance for our survival as a nation,” she announced, “I call on all Liberians to observe three days of national fast and prayer to seek God’s face to have mercy on us and forgive our sins and heal our land, Liberia, as we continue to fight against the deadly Ebola virus.”

America could do with a little of that fasting, praying and seeking GOD’S face, asking for HIS mercy and to heal our land.

Here in Tulsa, our Bishop called for a nine day fast and prayer in response to a Satanic mass planned in Oklahoma City.

I can’t believe God is angry at Liberia because of homosexuality. If that was the case we would be nothing but a heap of ashes by now.

I personally would like to see our religious leaders demonstrating that kind of humility.

USA does not have religious leaders. Just leaders.

Now, some groups of people have religious leaders, but not the Nation. Not since...which President?

I can't believe God is angry at Liberia because of homosexuality...

To know God is to read his book. "The wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who hold the truth in unrighteousness." (Romans 1:18). The epistle goes on to describe God giving over the reprobate to filthy sodomite practice. Those who practice such things are worthy of death. (Romans 1:32).

It's not just Romans. Consult Jude (:5,7ff).

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternally fire. (Jude :7)
God is consistent throughout the Bible--Genesis 18-20, Leviticus 18,20, Romans, Jude, Revelation. Physical and spiritual sodomy--it is evidence of condemnation, reprobation, rejection

When asked about divorce Jesus made it clear that God made man Male and Female and these two become one flesh in marriage. This is a holy symbol of God's eternal relationship with every believer, when we inhabiting the Jerusalem above dwell with God in Christ for ever. Sodomy perverts all of this. No sodomite will enter the kingdom of God--1 Corinthians 1:9. Those who identify as sodomites are damned.

I wonder if they think he might have had a bigger problem with the mass murder and limb hacking that went on for years in Liberia, and the abattoir of Sierra Leone that was created by Liberia’s own Charles Taylor.

Kind of like consuming the United States media, including the Washington Post.

Seriously.

The only strong criticism of the man child playing in the Oval Office comes from the FOREIGN PRESS (and Fox News).

The Washington Beltway media, coupled with the sycophants in the local markets of the United States, are lapdogs of the left.

The woman president of Liberia who has called on the nation to REPENT AND ASK GOD FOR FORGIVENESS.

Amazing.

The case could be made that we are burning right now...in the process of becoming that heap of ashes.
