Not a bad idea, if they are serious about it, but Russia may be laughing all the way to the bank.

The cancelation penalty Mistral would have to pay Russia is some $1.6 Billion dollars, on top of moneys already paid, and would likely bankrupt them. Which is why France is so reluctant to do anything. It would be a big hit to the economy.

So, they will have to pay $1.6B over what the current price is, to buy them.

Any bets that the AMERICAN TAXPAYER is going to be picking up that bill?

You became an expert on this contract in the space of a few minutes?

Contracts have all kinds of exit clauses that I am sure are being looked at.

It has been talked about for weeks, and posted several times on FR as well.

Google can be your friend, when you choose to use it.
Or use the FR search tool:

Thanks for the link. Unlike you, instead of crapping about Russia 24/7 like it’s a job, I actually have other interests in life to enjoy.

Hope you see from above that post, which is from thisd very article no less, that refusal of delivery is very possible.

“that refusal of delivery is very possible.”

Didn’t say it wasn’t.
But I am curious who is actually going to end up with the bill.

Supplying military goods to a Terror State would be much more costly in the long run.

Hey sparky. The guy just opined on something factual, if you know some exit clauses, give us the Siri on it. He said nothing to justify you acting like a 3rd grader.

He knew something you didn’t, ergo, he has no life. LOL

“The EU has its own military??”

It wants one. They probably see this as a start.

The member states have sad, ineffective, underfunded (due to social welfare costs) little militaries and have been relying on Uncle Sugar for decades, so let’s create another one, over here, to draw money away from defense in the member states. Sounds like the sock gnome theory.

Actually the guy was insulting about my education, provided a keyword search (I always back-up my claims by providing a keyword search - don’t you?LoL!) and a propaganda item sourced from un-named “Sources close to ARMS-TASS”.

The propaganda link was posted by him way back on March 20. Yes, all educated people should be well informed on Russian propaganda from over 4 months ago... because you are, numb nuts? LoL!

The only thing you added was Trolling. At least we don’t need to waste time posting about your education...

Russia won’t get a cent from the EU over a cancelled aircraft carrier contract after blowing off that $50 billion Yukos judgement.

cancellation penalty

Who are you kidding --

Russia faces a billion dollar lawsuit over the downing of the MH17 and you think France should pay a cancellation penalty.

Get real --

Exactly, they really need another little sad, ineffective and underfunded and politically correct armed force to soak up more of their economy.
