The Key To A Lasting Middle East Peace Is Total Victory

Here’s a wacky idea. Let’s win the war against our jihadi enemies.

Yeah, it’s certainly an outside the box idea. All we hear right now – in fact, all we’ve heard for decades – is about peace processes and negotiations and ceasefires. On and on they go, one after another, always crashing on the rocks of intransigence by people who hate our allies and who hate us. Maybe we need some fresh new ideas, some outside-the-box thinking. How about we and our allies destroy our enemies? After all, the best peace plan is victory.

All of this started to get screwed up with the Korean Conflict and came to a head in Vietnam. The problem: Politicians started running the war rather than the generals. Politicians want a sanitized war where the MSM can take pictures, but no one ever gets shot. They don’t want the realities that war brings to our troops. Instead, they want to put our troops in harms way with rules of engagement that only a politician could dream up. Indeed, let’s give Nancy and Barbara and Harry a rifle and send them to one of the current hot spots for, say, six months. With a little luck, they may come back with a different point of view. With a lot of luck, maybe they won’t...never mind...not a nice thought.

Makes sense - but Wash DC will never buy into it...

Charlie Wilson: These things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world... and then we f***ed up the endgame.

It is a very nice thought, which if becomes reality, would bring joy through out the land.

Praise be to allah.

Could this have had seeds in the US Civil War?
Pictures in papers and reporters harsh stories initially caused ‘limited’ northern engagements.
Politics especially hampered Jeff Davis in selection of Generals and his ‘direction’ of the war.

Victory is the only thing that will stop the killing and war. Sad really—its like dropping the a-bomb on Japan—in the end it saved both Allied and Japanese lives. Imagin if WW II had ceast fires to let the Nazis have humanitarian relief (so they could build an a-bomb) -—No, what we see is TV wars, propaganda, and the UN—dump the Corrupt UN! send it back to Europe! I say Nuke Gaza—kill em all—re-populate with Christians and Jews—No Islamic people permitted. Turn the mosques into museums and churches.

I agree. If you’re stupid enough to start a war, then you should be prepared to see your home turned into a glass parking lot. The other thing that really pisses me off is the MSM showing Palestinian kids injured in the war, but not the same pictures showing their 9 year old’s in full military gear carrying AK-47’s. Finally, where are the vocal chords of all of those mythical “peace-loving Muslims” the MSM tells us about? Seems to me if you’re strolling through a street in Indonesia, which is over 97% Muslim, you shouldn’t have to worry about a Shiite blowing himself up in the middle of a bunch of Sunnis...but you do. Either peace-loving Muslims is a myth or they are all cowards cause when I listen for them to speak out against beheadings and other murders, all I hear is crickets.

Bingo. Been saying this for years. The conflict with the pali terrorists has been going on for over 50 years because NO ONE HAS DEFINITIVELY WON. This proportionality carp only keeps the conflict going. Lets face facts, there can be and will be no peace with the palis. They do not want a peace process, they want Israel destroyed, period. They consider civilians, children and everyone to be a legit target. Its time to Israel to adopt their rules and make them scream for peace.

International law after WWII has defanged war to the point that war can bring about regime change but it can’t change the hearts and minds of a warlike people.

WWII brought enough destruction on Germany and Japan to convince nations with a strong martial tradition that military adventurism was unproductive, and that peaceful production and trade was the route to world power.

Now the best we can do is to get rid of a tyrant. Deposing a tyrant is a good thing — the world would be better off if a few more were hanged — but nothing fundamental has changed and a new tyrant soon emerges.

To win a war the enemy must know they are defeated. That means they have to see and feel the devastation and be demoralized. You can change a regime without any of that. Smart weapons make the situation worse because it eliminates much of the up close and personal destruction for the populace. In the past if you had a military factory 1000 yards from your home there was a good chance your home would be destroyed and you might be killed. Not anymore. Smart weapons removes the fear and horror associated with war.
