With all the growth California has done zero to build water resources. But they drained the Sierra Nevada reservoirs to save the delta smelt.

Loved living in California for 20 years.......left 5 years ago. Miss the beauty but not the politics. Our finances had become so strained that I only allowed our son to apply to 5 colleges.......too expensive to try for more. The Leftists have ruined a wonderful place. So, so sorry.

A half-dozen nuclear desalination facilities and the problem would be solved. But solving problems is the last thing Lefties want to do. They want to exploit them, and if there aren’t enough problems to exploit you manufacture a few.

When we escaped maryland (THE Freak state) a few years ago we had to pay an “exit tax” of 3 percent of the sale price of the house. Disgusting...but worth it. We escaped.

Note to Nimrod: You did such a swell job on building the tower of Babel. We now invite you to move people out of California so they don’t die of thirst.

There never was enough water in Calif for all those millions. Go back to your drawing boards and figgure out how to live in a desert you created.

“That’s not why CA gets denigrated. The liberals with their sick “environmental” rules have been attacking that state’s produce sector for decades.”

I understand why some right wing loonies hate California. I don’t like our government any more than they do. That said, with all our governmental troubles, we are still the number one business state in the nation, the RATs can’t seem to kill our businesses. This drought has nothing to do with politics. Sure, we can ( and should have been ) do/done something about water long ago. It’s nuts for us to be growing cotton, rice and almonds, because they all take way too much water to grow here. Government ( and that’s both D’s and R’s) should have been de-incentivizing these crops years ago, but the ag folks knew who to pay off. Now, they are quite likely to loose their businesses in spite of the state government’s misbehavior in their behalf. The state water project was supposed to replace groundwater pumping, but all the ag guys did was open up more land to high water use farming when the water started flowing. There are places in southern Kern County where groundwater pumping for agriculture has caused a 50 ft subsidence in the land.
But none of this has anything to do solely with the RATs, and now, if we don’t get some abnormal rainfall this winter, not only will we suffer, but so to will the rest of the country who rely on us for the stuff that they eat. And as far as people moving out, that would be a good thing, because there are already too many living here.

“What’s a “right-wing loony”?”

The Right Wing has it’s idiots, just like the left. The political spectrum is not a line, it’s a circle. with the idiots meeting 180 degrees from those who have no political thoughts.
Right Wing Loonies are those who are always right there with a denigrating comment or remark that makes them feel good about themselves but does nothing to advance the discussion. They are the “California ( or you pick the state that they somehow despise ) should be done away with” folks. Those who seem to think that queers are the root of all evil and all of them live in San Francisco. They are mental pygmies who have no real serious thoughts about where we are headed, but find it easier to just “blame someone else.” They are the people who probably elected Todd Akin to public office originally, and who knows, maybe they belong to a religion that handles snakes for fun.

That’s untrue, for one thing. For another thing, you’re using left-wing talking points and pro-homosexual rhetoric. Have a nice day and by all means continue to fail to acknowledge what is at the heart of California’s problems.

How about the libtards release all the water that they cut off to protect the so-called endangered delta smelt?
