The ISIS offensive has stalled outside of Baghdad and they are dangerously overextended and vulnerable to a counterattack. Many of the jihadists are from Chechnya and are the deadly enemies of the Russians. In fact the Russians are providing military and logistical aid to the Iraqis and may be preparing for that counterattack.

The Iranians, Russians and Chinese are helping the Iraqis out here. There may even be covert assistance from the Saudis Turks, and Al Qaeda, which also see ISIS as a major threat and competitor in the rhelm of terrorism.

OK, I know Putin is bad, but if I were he I would provide safe transit to all displaced and endangered Christians in Iraq. And France has done this and I say VIVE LA FRANCE for doing it.

At some point, who knows if it will be in time or not, the West is going to have to WAKE UP.

There’s that old Irish song “The West’s Awake”, but we are not.

Thank you for those concise statements that describe in plain English what the heck is going on over there. Most times it seems to be a matter of “Who’s Jihad is On First?”
Learning that ISIS may have succumbed to their own ambition by overextending themselves makes me hopeful that perhaps the other Arabic or Islamic tribes can destroy or greatly disable this BLOB, this whirling dervish of Islamic excess.

No one else (U.S. included) seems able or prepared to stomp this bully back down into the sands. In better times and with a better President, we would have at very least offered safe refuge for some of the Christian groups that have been thrown out of their long occupied territories. The oppressed
Christians and Jews of today have suddenly become invisible to Obama and many European ‘leaders’/

A little mentioning of Putin and how he views Christianity that some people may find surprising...

Putin is from St. Petersburg and is a BIG supporter of the Orthodox Church and all things Tzarist...he wants to bring back the enlightenment period of what made Russia great in music, arts, and economic power. Putin is protecting the church is various ways and has his hands even in Rome. HE never liked Stalin and considers that a black period period that should never be celebrated - even the Olympics stamped that out and was very brief to showcase the CCCP...

Helping out Iraq right now is better than allowing ISIS to gain a foothold and spread...something that Obama can’t even wrap his head around...

Very interesting times we are in....
