The “nakba” (disaster) is what the Muslims call the very founding of the state of Israel. They’ve always been against it.
The greatest limitations to the military capability of the jihadists in the Palestinian Authority are the jihadists themselves. They come to this confrontation with altogether the wrong attitude, that by dying in great numbers, they shall somehow shame Israel into surrender.
The Al Capp cartoon series, “Li’l Abner” had a fictional alien species, Pincushions, beings from “Planet Pincus No. 7.” They looked like flying sausages with pinwheels on their posteriors. When making negotiations with earth people, if the earth people would make no concessions, the Pincushions would line up, and each of the Pincushions would fly into the pinwheel at the back of the Pincushion ahead of itself, thus shredding hundreds of themselves in the presence of the earth negotiators. Self-destructive, but it so alarmed the earth negotiators, they surrendered on all terms.
Even though only one Pincushion was left.
That’s why they’re hell-bent on getting nukes.
It’s not just Israel the jihadis are after (the “little Satan”); Obama can wish it away all he wants, but the Great Satan (the USA) is their major target.
