I wonder how many Republicans (after working as a hill staffer, or after being voted into office), would say "I support traditional marriage," and then when working as a lobbyist would switch sides in a millisecond?

This is what you get: GOP candidates run on traditional issues, and then bait and switch and spend most of their time defending banker-bailouts, defending borrow-and-spend and increasing the deficit, won't reach out to Tea Partiers and so on.

Or you get staffers who "support" something, and then switch sides later...

The GOP is supposed to be an alternative to the liberal DemcoRat Party, but they adopt more of the Rat platform all the time.

The GOPe relies way too much on consultants, who I suspect are mostly liberal Democrats. They should listen to their constituents for a change.

It's time that the GOP suffer the same fate as the Whigs and for nearly identical reasons.

...and I contend they have never changed they were always squishy and if you really knew them, you too would know. They were never Conservative, more like fence sitting moderates. They cannot stand real conservatives, way too much principle and not nearly enough go along to get along.

Quite honestly, I couldn’t care less about the gay marriage issue. I’m not for it, but it’s inevitable that it will be accepted everywhere. Judges are tyrannically overruling votes on it, so there’s nothing that will be done through legislation.

There are more important things going on in this country that need to be addressed. The fact that this issue is at the top of everyone’s radar just stuns me. The media and Hollyweird have FAR too much influence on the culture of this country.

but they keep saying we should vote for the “lesser evil” on election day.

Sometimes there is nothing but evil. Better to skip the race than endorse any evil.

“The issue is losing its toxicity from a Republican perspective,” she said

Not from a voter perspective. How can I trust a person that gives in to perversion to represent me in my government?

Needless to say, not all Republicans think this is a big issue, at least not when compared with the immediate, existential issues of the day.

At this point, I don't care about the social issues. We have more pressing issues, jobs, taxes, terrorism, Obamacare, then whether Steve is marrying Adam.

When we get those issues finished, let's worry about stupid things.

It’s amazing how supposedly intelligent people still do not GET that it the turning of our backs on God and His ways that caused our downfall.

When will they wake up to reality?

The GOP wobbly on fag-marriage, and I can guarantee that the Party will never see another vote from me, big office or small. Ditto for at least a dozen of my family members, all who have been reliable Republican voters for decades.

Additionally, I’d corral all my grassroots/footwork/funding energies towards the total destruction of the GOP (and hopefully the birth of a new, genuinely “conservative” party).

This so unfair! The homosexuals have lobbyists. What about the pedophiles, the necrophiliacs, and the goat fetishists? Next session of Congress is my bet.

So we might as well become the Dem party then.
Yet again the GOP are too stupid to understand that they have been infiltrated.
