UKRAINE: Of war and of victory

Today the striking force of our troops in one of the most dangerous areas, the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Viktor Muzhenko personally led to a breakthrough. He went into the tank, with their callsigns who know of his native housing, and personally led the fight. Soldiers expressed their admiration: at Muzhenko case gave his nickname - "Victor-war", and they are happy, that it was not a mistake.

I again harshly criticize the Muženko for his place is in the headquarters, that he should not lead the fight, not the tactical operation, but control the front by making strategic decisions. For that aid sector "D" came so late ... Intellectually, I understand that rationally the General is wrong. Because Russian mercenaries are superbly equipped with anti-tank defense and their defense tactics are very effective: snipers and machine gunners beat instrument of observation and on advanced tanks there are concentrated massive strikes of RPG and PTURami. Some cars come out of the battle that have received ten or more hits! Great rescues great frontal armor of T-64 and excellent dynamic protection system "Knife." But anyway - go to the best tank platoon - a huge risk and a huge responsibility.

Yes, in terms of tactics for the general to go on the attack unwise. And I wrote those words. I wrote and told them more than once. But then I thought ... War - it's not just a tactic. War is a battle, not machines, and the opposition/intangible confrontation, that you can't pick-up but that you can only feel after experiencing. After all, we, the people, are fighting and sacrificing not for ourselves, not for the big salary and pension, but because faith for us has and always will be primary. Who has the stronger faith and is more honest - he wins.

Because war is not hands and eyes - especially in battle the spirit and will enters. Not for a paycheck, not for retirement and not for the equipment of soldiers that goes forward on the attack. But [in battle the spirit enters] for honor and for conscience. For love and friendship.

The commander must show his men/his fighters- among which are all sorts of people - not only heroes, but cowards and weaklings, hesitant- that he [the commander] takes full responsibility for the decisions taken. You cannot leave behind the main enemy that is here, inside of you, and there, up ahead/ in front in another trench, and what to fear more is to one another that we will not give up the slack! That the victory will be ours! What if he's the commander there, in front, then we are ashamed to sit in the rear and be cautious, ashamed to look for excuses in what is natural and normal human reluctance to crawl out under the missiles and bullets. Because if the front is a trap, if someone betrayed, if someone made a mistake, the commander is the first to pay for it. And, it is in this war, the war of right over wrong, the war for independence, war, where the whole society and the army also has been partly infected with skepticism and doubts, and the word "General" as any commander and Chief head long has been devalued/ depreciated, it is necessary to build not only a strategic army but above all to forge the SPIRIT of a warrior. And no, this is not done, except by personal example. And if every sector of this front, each of us in this battle will rise in their desperate attack, and will go forward, we will sweep away any enemies as if they were not there.

Thank you, General, that you drive yourself as a warrior soldier. When I heard the enthusiastic words of our soldiers/our fighters, I did not ask where it happened but see how far we have come.

I felt that this is a victory.
