Megyn Kelly Chronicles IRS Lies and Flip-Flops the Press Refuses to Cover, Let Alone Feature
News Busters ^ | July 26, 2014 | Tom Blumer

Posted on 07/27/2014 10:16:13 AM PDT by george76

On Thursday, with PJ Media's J. Christian Adams as her guest, Fox News's Megyn Kelly recited a list of assertions (under oath, she reminded us) made by Internal Revenue Service officials which have later been shown to be lies or cause for agency flip-flops after "new" facts have been revealed.

It's a significant list. By implication, it's an indictment of the vast majority of the establishment press, which has refused to give the IRS scandal the attention it deserves. Video and a transcript follow the jump.

...

The establishment press has been almost completely uninterested in telling their readers, listeners, and viewers about the litany of changed stories and caught-lying incidents chronicled above, the sheer volume of which makes Watergate look like a, well, a tea party (in the old-fashioned polite-company sense of the term). There's no way this flat-out journalistic negligence would happen during a Republican or conservative administration.

Why is this going on for so long? They tell one lie then it’s months later they tell another lie, this has been going on since 2010 and to date nothing has been really done about it except listen to one BS story after another after another after another. Can imagine doing this in a civilian criminal court? The judge would stick it up your butt in 2 seconds. “Oh I’m sorry Judge, my computer crashed again ...and again...and again and again and again...”

I’ve seen a few (mostly mildly) unkind things said about Megan on this forum. I have to wonder if they’re watching the same program as I am. I consider her to be a pretty pit bull. The only time I can remember her backing off a notch is when time constraints interfered.

And it would be respectful of me to spell Megyn’s name correctly!

Abolish the IRS.
Give us the Fair Tax.

That’s the equivalent of nuking this corruption from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

Ok, here is what bugs me. The IRS and the NSA are lying to congress. So, why wouldn’t they also be lying to the FISA Court. Why should we believe they are telling them the truth. If you have no qualms about lying to one branch of the government why would you not lie to the other branch as well. And because its secret, who is to know. Who is making sure that they are telling the truth. Not the press. If the press wanted to look into it they couldn’t. Because they don’t even get to hear about it.

I think its dangerous whenever the US government does anything in secret. We the people have an important job. We are the 5th and largest estate in the government. We vote for the government. We can change the constitution. But we can’t do our jobs unless we know about it. And one of our jobs is to change the government when we don’t like it. It seems to me that the government should not be allowed to do anything in secret unless there is clear and present danger and then only for a short period of time.

The statement, “A democracy is beholden to its people” is not totally true. It’s more accurate to say. A democracy is beholden to its people so far as its transparent in everything it does.

The media is the enemy of the American people. The choose what to omit, distort or hype. They must be defeated if we are to live in a free country.

A propaganda machine will not support a free country.

"it's an indictment of the vast majority of the establishment press"

The fifth column media scum (back to "Uncle Walter" and probably further) are America-hating traitors at heart. JFK would never have been elected if the media had told the truth which they knew.

All you wrote is cogent. Do you see how you have made the very tight case for the press not being anything but controlled by someone who wants to manipulate ‘the government’? Those ‘someones’ have been doing it since 1913 and the establishment of the ‘federal reserve’, which is nothing but a private banking cartel pretending to be a federal agency while manipulating world events and this government to their ends, not the people’s.

Simplify the rules and eliminate all of the IRS. I bet tax revenue would increase just by eliminating all the favors and goodies bribes have woven into the present tax code.

Prediction: It will get worse. The lefties in the media are galvanized and hell-bent.

The Nixon administration told a bunch of lies too.

The MSM devoted most of its coverage to those lies - sometimes all of its coverage - for about two years, without interruption.

When the web of lies got complicated, when the relationships between the various players got too confusing, Roger Mudd or Garrick Utley would take the time to display charts, showing the names and faces and connecting them together with circles and arrows, in a time when computer graphics was a distant dream in the minds of Catmull and Lassiter.

The scandals of today get no such attention in the MSM, except (perhaps) on Fox News.

Which, I guess, is why Fox News is doing so well.

The media and the rat party are two divisions of the same enterprise, each competing for control of the policy committee. The gopE is an ongoing acquisition, with no seats on the board. A few shareholders are still holding out.

It’s nice to know that somebody is still asking questions about the criminal acts committed by the Obama regime. The DNC run, state controlled “media” sure as hell isn’t going to do it.

Bravo to Ms. Kelly for keeping this on the front burner. Will anybody be following her lead? I hope so.

I don't know how this business is run, but if she has time maybe she can not allow the country to forget Benghazi and the VA situation as well.

Dobbs, Kelly, Baier, VanSustren, Varney are tops in the FOX family in my view.

It’s pretty clear the IRS is stonewalling to protect the very top of the Obama Administration, possibly even President Valerie Jarrett.

The possibility of the backups, previously “confirmed” to not exist, seems to have come to light after a judge advised they would be placed under oath in his court to testify about the e-mails. Quite a coincidence...

No surprise. The issue is dead. Issa and the MSM has made sure of that.
