On the day he won a Western Conservative Summit straw poll, Dr. Ben Carson reported he’s “starting to think about” the possibility of a White House bid in 2016.
Reporting that hundreds are showing up for his book signing tour, Carson says of the idea it’s one he “cannot simply ignore.”
Carson rose to prominence after the public dressing down of Obamacare at a prayer breakfast at which President Obama was in attendance. Since that address, Carson’s star has continued to rise among key GOP constituents fed up with what is perceived as a less-than-aggressive response by House leadership.
Despite his popularity, Carson’s electoral prowess is untested, and history does not reflect well on outsider candidates. With an expectedly crowded GOP field of contenders in 2016, Carson’s potential path to the White House is littered with land mines.
Ever coy, Carson reminded, “But it certainly wasn’t on my bucket list when I retired.”

Not that he’ll win or even break 10 percent. But the more true conservatives (and less RINO’s and libs) that run - the better.

I wish Ben Carson would think about a run for governor, senator or Congressional representative. He is smart and would be an effective advocate but he is not ready to be president. If he really wants to govern, there are opportunities but, at this point, one of them is not president.
I am told that Carson doesn’t make any appearances that he doesn’t get paid for. He needs to be willing to campaign for conservative candidates before talking about running for POTUS.
He’s one of my favorite people.

He is brilliant. He wields a verbal stiletto that is inserted so smoothly the victim doesn’t feel the fatal stab until he twists it a time or two. He is a great speaker. Not an orator with bull shit like Obama but a continuous steam of articulate logic delivered in a rather quiet voice.

There is another very important fact. I am convinced he has very big time heavy duty super money business support. He spoke here on the stage of the largest employer in the state of Tennessee. The company is I believe the tip of the carson support iceberg.
His job will be destroy and replace Obamacare....... he knows what to do
Brilliant surgeon, decent man, and a good voice for many things conservative — but not cut out for the presidency.
Run for Congress or Senate first for God's sake.
He’d get utterly savaged. If anyone thinks the “can’t criticize the Black guy” thing will persist into a Carson candidacy they will be horribly disappointed. If he can take that, fine.
Decent man & presidency...talk about a contradiction in terms.
In my lifetime, we had ONE decent man as president (RR).
