Jihadists have killed 270 Syrian regime fighters, civilian security guards and employees since seizing a gas field in Homs province, a monitoring group said Friday.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights described Thursday's takeover of the Shaar field as "the biggest" anti-regime operation by the Islamic State (IS) since it emerged in the Syrian conflict last year.
The watchdog, updating an earlier toll of 115, said it had documented "the death of 270 people killed in the fighting or executed" since Thursday.
"A large majority of the men killed were executed at gunpoint after being taken prisoner following the takeover of the camp," said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman.

I think there needs to be a new addiction identified, addiction to killing
Yeah, but they didn't do it by shooting down the plane they were in, did they?
They're freedom fighters we send aid and equipment, forget about it.
Yes. Our tax dollars at work.
The ghost of 6th Century murderous Mad Mo lives on.
An ocean of warm, red, infidel blood would not satisfy his thirst.
Question? When muzzies ‘martyr’ fellow muzzies who gets the 72 virgins? Or do they split them down equally to 36 each? Inquiring minds of us infidels wanna know.
“Islamic State kills 270 in Syrian gas field ‘massacre’”
As far as I know this meets the standard of a war crime.
As far as I know shooting down a passenger plane is a war crime (or some kind of nasty crime).
So the first is ok, because US policy supports the Syrian “rebels”, but the second is not ok, because US policy doesn’t support the “rebels”.
For a minute there I forgot that US Policy nullifies God given morality right along with the Constitution.
Silly me, I must be getting old and having those little memory moments.
You know, this is your day to have the virgins, this is your three hours to have the virgins, and so on.
No problem, that’s why I’m here.
Does Islam create murderous psychopaths or does it just attract them?
Muslims can kill anyone who gets in their way or who is not a muslim.
They don’t believe in “war crimes.”
Besides who is going to do anything about it?
When they’re slaughtering other islamists at least we’re getting that break.
I guess the message is that if you surrender to these people, they will kill you.

our allies at work
Fear is a weapon—always has been. They do this to terrorize their enemies so they will retreat before them. Wait for the big bloodbath coming when they take Baghdad. The future holds many more outrages as the world decends into barbarism and horror. If no one faces them—and stops them, the crimes will only grow until they are a whole lot less people on planet earth. Maybe this is the rature after all—Christian taken to heaven—and the AntiChrist in the form of the Chaliph rules the world. Maybe those of us who are unwilling to fight—will be forced to become muslims—we get 4 wives! But no booze.
"When theyre slaughtering other islamists at least were getting that break."
IMHO, it's the wave of the future. I think this is just the start of the massive slaughter of Muzzies by Muzzies.
It's happened often enough for people to play around with whether or not it's cyclical so dig around and you can find several theories on that. If you're really interested I suggest you start by reading The River War by Winston Churchill first. Churchill is a good start because he mentions a good many historical things that it's not popular to talk about these days. That should give you plenty of good leads and plenty of good rabbit holes to go down.
For more entertaining views of the same war and situation Churchill describes there's The Four Feathers and the classic Charlton Heston Khartoum. Less hard historical information but a surprising amount of accurate detail in each.
