A new report from the Commonwealth Fund claims 20 million Americans gained coverage under the Affordable Care Act as of May 1. But a closer look at that number reveals its not all its cracked up to be.
First, the authors, Dr. David Blumenthal, president of Commonwealth, and Vice President Sara Collins, get to the 20 million by adding together 1 million young adults who gained coverage under a parents policy, 8 million consumers who selected a marketplace plan, 5 million who purchased directly from an insurer, and 6 million who enrolled in Medicaid or the Childrens Health Insurance Program.
Also, the authors admit the 20 million figure does not distinguish between those who were previously insured and those who were not even though the previously insured would not be gaining coverage but merely replacing one form of coverage with another.

What is this concept of “True”?
Does truth have any bearing on the current governance of the United States of America?
The 20 million calculation must be using CommonCore math... it includes the future enrollees of “kids” that are and will be streaming across the southern border.
NOTHING IS true about this administration other than the truth that they lie.
All these frauds, evo, global warming, Mandela, low unemployment, Obama, great economy, low inflation, etc., get promoted and low information masses believe it. A retraction usually gets issued many years later and buried on p23 with one sentence. But by then billions of our dollars are spent, wars waged, jobs lost, more statist control, more oppression, heavier taxation, basically the heavy wet blanket that has been laid across the people becomes heavier and yoke around our necks tighter and heavier. Animal farm we are. I feel like Boxer.
Like gun control, now that the dust has settled it’s apparent the left was more concerned about *control* than they were the public health, safety and welfare.
Surprise, surprise, surprise!
As well as skyrocketing medical costs, now we have a large and rapidly growing layer of federal bureaucracy to support.
The last I heard Obama signed up 7 million people who had lost their previous coverage due to the plan changes required by ObamaCare. Then there are 10 million people who lost their coverage when they lost their jobs. Now there are 56 million Americans with no health coverage.
I have it from someone in the know that those who signed up haven’t paid so hospitals aren’t getting paid. The hospitals in turn have had to hire employees to go after the money. Blood from turnips will put hospitals further into the red meaning the rest of us get the privilege of footing the bill.
