The government basically downplayed her real accomplishments and gave her this job only because they wanted diversity. They didn’t care about whether or not she was qualified, they only cared that she wasn’t a white guy.
Again, if she had any pride in that uniform, she would turn down the “promotion” and indicate that she would not want to take a position where anyone would question her abilities and in this case, because the reason for her promotion was stated by the White House to be diversity rather than competency, that she is turning it down.
But I’m guessing that the only reason she was promoted to General in the first place was because she was a woman. She is obviously more than happy to ride the affirmative action elevator to the top.
She is a Fellow of the Brookings Institution.
That, in and of itself, puts her beyond the pale as a Flag Officer.
Just my opinion of course.
