Harsher storms, worsening flooding and rising seas threaten the public's safety and health across the country, President Barack Obama warned Wednesday as he urged local communities to prepare for the effects of climate change.
Joined by top federal officials and local, state and tribal leaders at the White House, Obama said communities experiencing negative effects firsthand know that climate change is already upon us. He said boosting the nation's resilience and fighting climate change shouldn't be a partisan issue for lawmakers in Washington.
"Climate change poses a direct threat to the infrastructure of America," Obama said.
To help communities prepare, Obama announced new federal resources and grants. Some of the money will help rural communities dealing with drought and help Native American tribes train their officials to deal with climate change. The funding will also promote development of three-dimensional mapping of the U.S. for use in flood and erosion mitigation.

Climate change happens four times a year in most places in the US. Secondly, globul warming is not spot specific. The MSM goes all giggidy when some city is a few degrees higher than before and meanwhile at the same time two states over it’s less.

Down around 50 degrees when I got up this morning but it did get up to about 70 which is warmer than yesterday.
America desperately needs a Commander-In-Chief change.
Global warming is as real as Piltdown Man was, but if it were real it would be a net benefit for America. We’d have much higher agricultural production, and the economy would benefit from the increase in outdoorsmanship. Even if the ocean rising theory were true, do we really need New Orleans or some Hippie California cities? Plus, it would be a great way to get rid of the Palestinians in the West Bank.
The $900 billion Stimulus money is just about gone.
Obama is looking for another scam to rake in a few more hundred billion to pass out to his pals and supporters.
As if doesn’t have enough real, man-made problems/self-inflicted wounds to deal with, there he goes again with this nonsense.

The reference to “harsher storms” and the idea they threaten cities in particular is manifestly unscientific.
Note the group included “tribal leaders” who were there with their hands out for some global warming cash.
The whole thing reads like satire and should be grounds for impeachment because Obama sounds insane.
He actually said these communities are seeing the effects of global warming. Not a damn thing is happening!
Years ago, these charlatans would have been escorted to the edge of town and sent packing with their snake oil and other fantastic elixirs.

Gaia has been trying to warm herself since the end of the last ice age 11,000 years ago, and rather than obstruct her self identification our political class has declared war on her. Gaia wants to shed her icy crust and we need to support her decision!
