As if more evidence were needed that pronouncements by Fred Hiatts Washington Post editorial page with regard to Russia and Ukraine ought to be treated with extreme skepticism, if not outright ignored, last Fridays offering, which calls for the United States to enact unilateral sanctions on Russia should suffice.
Let us start at the beginning. The Post contends that Kievs Orwellian-sounding antiterrorist operation has thus far succeeded because President Poroshenko is resisting pressure to make unacceptable concessions to Moscow and its surrogates. Not so much. Poroshenko is succeeding largely because Russia has, for the most part, acted with a fair amount of restraint in the face of what amounts to an ethnic-cleaning operation being waged by the Ukrainian government against the Russophone east.

If the Washington Post is against Russia then that means Russia is doing something right.
More likely it just means Obama is losing at home.
Well, they can’t very well declare war on Obama, can they? That wouldn’t be cricket. They have to protect the awesome significance of the very first black President.
Even broken clock is correct twice a day. Russian terrorists are killing Ukrainians and destroying country’s future, it’s Ukraine that is showing restrain: instead of wiping russian cancer off, they are trying to save misguided civilians from russian criminals.
