According to a Gallup poll released today, Republican support for the Supreme Court has increased 21 percentage points since September of last year.
Partisan views have flipped since the beginning of the High Courts term last October. GOP approval has increased from a mere 30 percent to a majority of 51 percent. On the other hand, Democrats approval is down 14 points, falling from 58 percent to 44 percent.
This is notable considering the majority of Democrats have viewed the Supreme Court favorably since 2012s ruling on the individual mandate portion of the Affordable Care Act. During this time, approval spiked to 68 percent.
When party affiliation is taken out of the equation, Americans approval/disapproval of the High Court remain consistent with polls from September. Overall, 47 percent currently approve and 46 percent disapprove of the Supreme Court's performance. In September, the polls showed a similar 46 percent approval rating and 45 percent disapproval rating.
Although nearly two-thirds of this terms decisions were unanimous, the two most recent cases of Harris v. Quinn and Burwell v. Hobby Lobby were slim 5-4 wins for the GOP. It is no surprise that Republicans faith in the Supreme Court has recently increased following several other victorious rulings for the conservative movement.
Supreme Court and “Percentage Points”? Charts and Graphs?
My! My!
Sorry - ain’t no popularity polls in The Constitution.
With one act of courage, C.J. Roberts could have shut down Obamacare. The nation could have been spared what it’s gone through, is going through, and will go through.
U.S. Supreme Court — as a body — deserves no respect since that day...and gets a thumbs down from me.
You made me think of something. I wonder how many of the jugheads living in this “country” would even approve of the U.S. Constitution in one of these polls. I’ll bet it’s in the 40s. Probably even lower than that for the Bill of Rights if you bring up the Second Amendment. This country is crawling with very low information types.
SCOTUS makes a few proper Constitutional decisions and that somehow negates years of pissing on the Constitution and screwing the holy heck out of the American people and what little is left of the republic?
Rhetorical question.
As disgusting as it may be, there really is no question as to how we got the government we got. American voters.
Traitor Roberts’ approval = Zer0.
It’s a setup for the Roe vs. Wade of marriage.
You can’t trust six of them. The Supreme Court is the enemy of the Constitution at present. The Lenin Sisters are particularly odious. Bob
Duped.
After Obamacare and that crap they pulled last year, they are still in my black books. Just because they finally did their jobs doesn’t excuse them for the times they didn’t do their jobs. Don’t trust Congress. Don’t trust the president. Don’t trust the SCOTUS. They don’t care about the people. Never think they do.
Yeah well. It will be reversed in the polls when they uphold this “gay marriage” BS.
I can’t stand this SCOTUS. They aren’t Conservative, they aren’t LibTard, they are just horrifically bad and pro-Police State.
