Some questions about the Hamas rockets (vanity)
Vanity | July 12, 2014 | me

Posted on 07/12/2014 3:58:10 PM PDT by Leaning Right

I was watching a segment on Fox about the current Hamas rocket attack on Israel. Evidently, hundreds of rockets have been launched in the past few days. Three questions occured to me.

One, where did all these rockets come from (who manufactured them)?
Two, who paid for these rockets?
Three, how did these rockets get into Gaza? Were they smuggled in from Egypt?

TOPICS: Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: gaza; hamas; israel; qassam; rockets; stih
I'm guessing these rockets are too sophisticated to be home-made. Anyone with any insights?

There are tunnels all over the place. I hear some are from Iran. Some are sent by ships.

They are being smuggled in originally from Iran, through Lebanon, some through Syria, but the majority of them come through Lebanon..most are the short range rockets, but others have longer range(The ones that you are seeing come through Tel Aviv) the Iron Dome protects Israel the majority of the time, but it can’t be expected to handle all of the rockets being shot in, once in a while a rocket gets through..a few days ago it made a direct hit on a gas station, hurting 1 person severely..the rockets are being shot from the Gaza Strip..Hamas purposely puts these rockets in schools and homes with women and children so that there will be mass casualties and those images will play on TV

Iran sent some of them. The “sewer pipe” that was openly delivered was turned into rockets so all of the above I guess.

I think it runs the gamut...

The largest and most accurate probably come as-is from Iran; perhaps a small amount of assembly required.

The next size down probably come as parts and put together in Gaza.

On the low end, I think they are just home grown... doesn't take much to launch a piece of pipe when you couldn't care less where it lands.

Here is plans for an aspiring palee... just omit parachute:

Here’s the answer if you want to subscribe.
http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/hamas-firing-china-designed-syria-made-m-302-rockets-israel-n152461

In essence there is always somebody willing to make a buck. Nicolas Cage played an arms dealer in (I think) Lord of War. Essentially, that explains how it works.

Many times other countries are playing at proxy war. Then there are countries like Russia that have zero control over what gets exported so long as the right officials are bribed. Most likely the rockets are from Russia, China, North Korea and/or Iran. All are lawless wild-west zones where a buck will get you anything you want.

A lot of the smaller ones are not much more than PVC pipe with some solid rocket fuel and a little explosives on the tip. They ARE manufactured in Gaza.

"Iran attempted to send another shipment of M-302 missiles to Hamas, but the IDF stopped that shipment. The missiles were originally made by Assad’s Syria.

Apparently, another weak spot in the geography is the Sinai. It’s a demilitarized zone and I hear it’s become a haven for terrorists. They can go into gaza from there.

Both Egypt and Israel have been in a quandry as to how to deal with Sinai. If Egypt were to patrol it, then it becomes a security risk for Israel, and is against the agreement between both countries to have their militarys there. So, both chose to honor that agreement.

The mess in the middle east is extremely complex, and I’m only just tapping the edges trying to understand the situation there.

It took someone else to explain to me, some of it. Makes my head spin.

Round signpost poles are also used, as I recall. Not that hard to make if you don’t care what they hit.

I suspect the majority of them resemble what you can buy at Hobby Lobby, plus an explosive warhead with a contact detonator.(Only larger)

One, where did all these rockets come from (who manufactured them)?
Most likely Russian surplus, from former Russian satellite countries.

Two, who paid for these rockets?
Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and most middle east muslim countries.
Also Europeans and the U.S. under the guise of "humanitarian" help to the "Palestinians."

Three, how did these rockets get into Gaza? Were they smuggled in from Egypt?
Many directly from Syria, by way of various paths from the country of origin. Many by sea, but Israel keeps intercepting the most blatant attempts by sea.

A very large bombing raid into Germany in WWII was 600 planes, but those bigger bombers in Europe like the B-17 carried more than one bomb, and several 500 or 1000 lb bombs would of course hit the city below from one bomber. B-25, Hudson, B-26 were smaller of course. Stuka had a smaller payload, Lancaster a larger payload so you can’t quite compare WWII to Gaza ....

What is the average payload on these? And how “in-accurate” are they? 1/2 mile in 20 miles? Or worse? Just randomly falling?

YOU “paid for them”!!

Via your tax dollars and the $$$BILLIONS in aid provided by Obama.

The Rockets are various sizes and shapes, but what is new are the numbers originating from Iran and Syria.
The less sophisticated rockets are built locally.

I won’t be surprised they come from a cia operation to give weapons to various terrorists. They just swap for what they want.

Most likely the rockets are from Russia...

The Grad rocket is a Russian design and may be manufactured in Gaza or smuggled in from Russia. It is an updated version of the Katyusha used by Russian army fired them in massive barrages from truck mounted launch 122mm tubes during the closing days of the allied attack on Berlin. The launchers were nicknamed Stalin's pipe organ. It (Grad) is a free flight missile using only rear fins for guidance.

We used a similar system from landing craft during the "island hopping" in the Pacific. The saturation barrage was intended to clear mine fields and concertina wire.

GtG
