I’m sure what you meant to say was this: Cochran’s people need to follow the law and allow McDaniel’s investigators access to the documents they have intentionally withheld. The sooner the investigation is complete, the sooner the election can proceed. As long as they continue to hide things, no one will be able to conduct a campaign.

But doubt that will happen because Cochran’s people will be going to jail if the truth gets out and CYA takes time. Cochran and his GOPe friends will be happy to give the dem candidate plenty of advantage as long as it keeps them out of jail and the conservative out of office.

Get your drift, but disagree with you. Cochran cannot be allowed to attain reelection for the senate. If the primary election cannot be thrown out, then McDaniel needs to run as a write-in.

To allow Cochran to return to the senate would be demeaning to the entire democratic election process. The GOPe need to be severly punished for their actions in this matter.

The ends sometimes justifies the means, but not in this case. Not by a mile...

This helps my understanding of a local Mississippi story that has now developed national significance. Thanks for laying it out. Yes, I would agree with your position, given all the factoids and players involved.

So, I guess the republicans have decided that acting like democrats is better than letting the real winner have the seat. I’d hate to see the republicans lose big this November, but I think that they are playing a dangerous game here. If we are not allowed to determine that the election was fair o r fraudulent, then we have lost society to a point of no turning back....which I really do believe is true.

I’ve been in more fervent and constant prayer than ever before, both for America and for Israel.

You said: McDaniel camp now claiming to have found 8300 ballot irregularities.

The announcement said: “We have found over 8,300 questionable ballots cast, MANY of which were unquestionably cast by voters ineligible to participate in the June 24th runoff election.”

I see a difference.

You sound a lot like the Missouri GOP Chair who is also a member of the RNC.

There is hope. Check out what he said here:

I am sure there are differences but I don’t know what they are. How about you? You got some insight to share?

Wednesday, July 16th, we will hold a press conference in Jackson to discuss the evidence we have documented and our next steps,” McDaniel concluded.

This interparty warfare gives the Dem candidate a new advantage of appearing more stable and consistent.

Well, DUH!!! I’d say, given what we’ve been through with this GOP Primary, the Dem IS more stable than the Mississippi GOP. You can thank the Cochran/Barbour team for that. The Dems are ecstatic about this race. They feel that they have a shot to take this seat. Look for a lot of Liberal bucks to flow into Childers’ coffers in the fall. He’s already wooing disgruntled McDaniel supporters, reminding them that he is Pro-Life and Pro-2nd Amendment. If Chris is kept off of the ballot, most of his supporters will just skip the Senate race and vote down-ballot. Some will actually vote for Childers.

McDaniel should give a real good, inspirational speech about why he wants to be a US Senator for Mississippi. Stop talking about the fraud for awhile and lay out a vision.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

WHAT??? Are you serious? That’s what he did during the campaign. This is a legal battle. If you’ve been the victim of an armed robbery, you go into court and tell the judge what the perpetrator did to you and ask for justice. You don’t go into court and say: “I demand justice because I’m a really nice guy and I attend PTA Meetings.” Geesh grania... you know better than that.

I agree. Switch it up. Go after Childers, too, and act like the presumed nominee that he is. And when folks question him, mention 8,300 invalid ballots and Cochran’s dementia.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

What good will that do if he’s not on the ballot? There will be plenty of time to go after Childers in the Fall Campaign. He has got to get on the ballot first. Please see my Post #34 to grania.

This is a fight between republican-democrats and tea party-conservatives.

What has happened and seen cannot be unseen. The bell has already rung and there’s no way to unring the bell.

This is lethal to the republican party.

I do believe we could see a new party emerge and this party would be viable and capable of forming a coalition of the majority.

Exactly correct. After the Nov. 2014 elections, it is time to start that new party. The GOP-e can go to blazes.

Me, too. His statement is not the definitive statement that I would like to see. The fact that he's waiting until next Wednesday to make the announcement suggests that he doesn't yet have enough unquestionable violations to attempt to overturn the election. Hopefully, by Wednesday, he will.

Geesh grania...you know better than that

It's McDaniel who should "know better than that". He won when he developed a strong, inspirational message. While he's fighting the court battle, he has to retain and enhance that he's the right person to be US Senator. A press conference or some advertising conveying his positive message while the court battle is going on will remind people why this fight must be fought and won.
