'America Has Ceased to Exist': Investment Guru Doug Casey on the Coming Economic Meltdown
Reason ^ | 25 June 2014 | Nick Gillespie & Amanda Winkler

Posted on 07/09/2014 6:28:27 PM PDT by Lorianne

"America is a marvelous idea, a unique idea, fantastic idea. I'm extremely pro-American. But America has ceased to exist," declares Doug Casey, an economist and author most recently of Right on the Money. He has also produced a new documentary called Meltdown America which predicts the economic and political unraveling of the U.S.

Casey recently sat down with Reason TV's Nick Gillespie to discuss the political, social, and economic challenges the US must conquer as well as lessons we can learn from failed states.

The border invasion and the economic meltdown together are destroying this country; Oh wait, Reason is open borders... never mind....

Right. We’re in such great shape and things are going so well, what is this guy smoking?

WSJ reported no more QE dollars by the end of October. Just in time to blame a GOP Congress for the subsequent meltdown.

Economic decay; Cultural decay; Moral decay.

Now just add the pure insanity of open-borders. Yes, it makes me view “America” as past-tense, more often than not. I look around for the country I knew, and like an archeologist sifting through ruins, I find only occasional little remnants, bringing back memories of the greatness that I once knew as America.

Yes, I just read that and I think your assessment of the timing is correct.

Not that I care for the GOP per se. In a lot of ways they have it coming for their many years of missing the boat on nearly every single issue.

Good point, I think the GOP have willingly played into “Rope a dope” for years.

At some point there actually has to be a meltdown or they are just talking BS. It seems that people are so stupid they will believe any Shia Muslim that the Mulatto Moron’s Administration cares to crap out!

It is all Bush’s fault anyway!

You and I both know, this economic and political unraveling will be physical and bloody. I wonder if it will make Vietnam look like Sunday school?

I don't see any way around this. The "other side" are revolutionaries, and revolutionaries understand only force.

My wife has decided there’s nothing that can be done so why worry about it? Just live life to the fullest as long as you can. I just heard Dennis Miller basically say the same thing. I’m going to join them.

I’ve been a subscriber to Doug Casy’s newsletters and read some of his books. He’s been preaching doom and gloom quite a number of years. That’s the way he makes his money. The All Junior Gold Mining stocks have crashed but he got me into gold coins when gold was $300 / oz. So I can’t complain about that.
