I guess you don’t need a weatherman to see which way the wind is blowing in Chicago these days. Here that Mr. Ayers?

Good shooting. Not as good as it could have been. The dirtbag thug went to the hospital rather than the morgue.

Umm, let’s see how this plays out before we celebrate. Chicago is a liberal bastion of stupidity. Won’t be surprised if Mickel becomes the victim and the vet becomes the perp. But, we shall see....

Then the question comes up are things actually getting scarier or is it just the news that’s scarier?

I’m working up here in Chicago - drive through that area everyday - it’s right between I-57 and I-94 in the south side...what I call the Marsh Lands...anyway...there where 12 shooting on THUR and FRI last week - nice way to celebrate freedom...by tormenting your neighbors....Chicago is a dangerous place...the people that were driven out of the ghetto didn’t take the opportunity to better themselves - only made other communities they were forced in - worst...and the traffic is just as dangerous trying to get in or out of this place...I’m leaving soon!

When going back east we detour completely around Chicago. Last time we skirted the South side into Hammond! Never again. The traffic was just outrageous, plus the area is starting to see more amish, where they go trouble follows.
Glad you are getting out. Good Luck.

I always enjoyed traveling Illinois but avoided Chicago. Good customer base, industry, friendly people.

It's just the expansion of the news biz desperate to find content to fill the programming day. What's the most disgusting, horrifying thing that happened in Your City today? Nothing that rotten? Well, expand the circle, what's the worst thing that happened within a 250-mile radius?
If there's still nothing gut-wrenching enough, expand the radius. 500 miles, 1,000 miles. Knowing the depths of human depravity, we can be sure we'll eventually find something so morbidly awful that nobody will be able to take their eyes off it, and we'll win six o'clock!
It's nothing new. Take a look at WISCONSIN DEATH TRIP to see how remote rural newspapers handled it in the 19th century.
