snip
5. Party Primary Elections are the responsibility of the Party, not the Secretary of State.

The Mediacrats will support the GOPe all the way to making sure Cochran could do no wrong. Then in November they will use this as a club to hit cochran over the head.

That's bunk.
The election law didn't just materialize out of nowhere on its own. It was crafted by the legislature, adjudicate by the judiciary, and executed by the Executive. All the arms of Mississippi government are involved in the faithful execution of the laws that they put in place.
Sure, the parties themselves have the responsibility of reporting their results, but it's the state that has the criminal oversight responsibility to ensure that the election is conduct in a fair and legal manner.
This statement by the Secretary of State sounds like they are washing their hands of it and walking away from their oversight responsibility, because they know that it means the end of Thad Cochran and Haley Barbour.
