They are still identifying the ficticious First US Army Group which was the deception of Operation Fortitude.Dumbkopf! The Americans would never place their best general in charge of an imaginary army. The 1st Army Group is real and will spearhead the main landings at Calais!

I would make a game out of them sort of a Risk meets Command & Conquer. Unfortunately for the Germans, I that's exactly what Hitler was doing.

Well you tell Marge Simpson there’s a war to win. :)
And there are a lot of people who are grateful for your efforts. These posts are the highlight of my day.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce is talking up the brilliant economic future of Siberia. Gotta love this stuff.

I passed your comment on to webmaster Andrew Etherington. The Elihu B. Washburn was sunk on July 3, 1943 by the U-513. The U-513 was in turn sunk two weeks later. The following link has some interesting interrogation reports of U-513 prisoners at the bottom of the page as well as mission report by the pilot whose plane sank the U-513. The bow gunner of the attacking PBM was confused and never fired his machineguns. The U-513's commander mistook the PBM for a Brazilian and deciding to fight it out on the surface. Too bad for the captain that the PBM was American and the U-513's 20mm jammed after only a few rounds. At 3 miles the PBM pilot reports 37mm rounds from the U-513 25 yards wide of the plane but they never came any closer.

It’s amazing to see on your maps how many units the Germans still have sitting on the coast north of Normandy.

We may get the answer to that on Wednesday when we see the current German intelligence estimate for Allied forces in the UK.
