Ben Carson Calls Abortion 'Human Sacrifice,' Says America No Better Than Ancient Heathens
Christian Post ^ | 07/02/2014 | Leonardo Blair

Posted on 07/02/2014 8:22:29 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Conservative star and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson says America had no right criticizing ancient "heathen" civilizations for practicing human sacrifice because it is doing the same thing through legal abortion.

Carson made the comments in a recent interview on DoveTV in response to host Perry Atkinson who speculated that if America could just end abortion then "all of the other things that God would be interested in helping us with would fall into alignment."

"It's interesting," Carson replied, "that we sit around and call other ancient civilizations 'heathen' because of human sacrifice, but aren't we actually guilty of the same thing?"

Just last month, however, Carson was criticized for supporting GOP U.S. Senate candidate from Oregon Monica Wehby who was politically advertised as being pro-choice. He later explained on his website that Wehby was personally pro-life, but because of the constituents she represents, had to reflect a pro-choice position.

"I called her to query her about her stance on this issue. She stated that personally, she is very pro-life, but she feels the government has no business interfering with the relationship between the mother, the baby, the doctor and God," said Carson on his website.

"I feel differently, because if abolitionists had taken a similar hands-off approach, I might not have been free to write this column. As someone who has spent a lifetime trying to save the lives of children, even with intrauterine surgery, it is probably not difficult to imagine why I am extremely oriented toward efforts to preserve human life, especially innocent human life that has yet to experience the extrauterine world," continued Carson.

Dr. Carson “tells it like it is”.

I’m going to a charity dinner in September at which he is the keynote speaker. I’m looking forward to it. His is a refreshing candid voice.

Dr. Carson isn’t perfect on a lot of issues such as gun control. But, so far, he meets my test on “Who is most likely to make Liberal heads explode?”

He makes an excellent point, but he’s preaching to the choir; only Christians will relate to the word “heathen” in the intended way.

“Uncivilized, primitive, or barbarian societies” might get through the pervasive heathen consciousness more easily.

"I am not saying that social issues are not important, but

With all due respect, if abortion is infanticide (and it is) then it is NOT just another "social issue."

I agree with a Dr. Carson a lot more than Romney, at least if you disagree with Dr. Carson you know he isn’t lying to you about the stuff you agree with him on, unlike Romney...

Until Carson changes his tune on Trevon Martin, where he’s swallowed the Obama devisive claim; hook, line, and sinker. Gun control, and a couple of other issues. Any talk about supporting him as a presidential candidate is un warranted.

That's a complete bullcrap position, first pioneered by the wretched demonic Mario Cuomo. It's personally corrupt, hypocritical, and morally indefensible. Shame on her for doing it, and on Ben Carson for buying it.

You have to be a heathen to support abortion. I think today’s tattoo culture among young thugs shows just how heathen we’ve really become.

I don't mind him having that personal position. He's not on a quest and, I believe, has no hidden agenda to go after guns. It's a position common amongst highly-educated city people who are completely unfamiliar with weapons. Now, if he pushed it as some community agitating campaign point?

Done. See ya, bye.

You are quite correct.

Personally, I'd favor socks sold in only a half dozen colors and maybe three are enough (black, white and gray). Further, I'd prefer that they all be tube type with extra padding and reinforcement in the heel and the toe.

But, unlike your typical libtard, I have no intention of trying to impose my sock position on others even though I think them logical and well-grounded.

I think he’s understating it a bit.
There are a lot of Moloch worshipers in this this country.

100 % correct. And how dare we criticize Hitler's exterminations of millions of Jews? We have our own American Holocaust ongoing since 1972.

I read some about that last night in my bible.

Moloch worship was to produce and then sacrifice a child to an evil idol for the purpose of some favor the idol would bestow. The Hebrews would have known about Moloch from when they were in Egypt.

There are some parallels between this and abortion, and some differences. I haven’t heard any stories yet about “Oh, I just sacrificed a child to an explicit god that will do me a favor.” The refrain is generally “Child? That was a child?” They didn’t sacrifice a child; they sacrificed a chunk of their conscience.
