America's fertility rate is currently at just under 1.9, representing the number of children the average woman has in her lifetime. 2.1 children per woman over her lifetime is considered the replacement rate.

Not good, ping!

I know young people that say they would not bring any kid into this world in this country anymore.

Sad

Abortion + Crap Economy + Working Women will do that

Of course, we did get past the BS “Overpopulation” hype of the 1970s but the same idiots are peddling that again...this time mostly to laughter

It seems to me that analysts assume that the Social Security/Medicare apparatus will, somehow, be sustained, even as we look forward to a situation of two workers per retiree. Are they missing something, or am I?

Having children messes with their lifestyles..
Can’t have THAT... better to shack up..

Let the gays get married.. and re-married, and re-married..
-OR- have open relaionships and diddle whoever they want to..

you know.. LIKE NORMAL..

And ironically, its family that is the only thing that will save their @$$ if the USA turns into Bolivia or Zimbabwe

http://www.slate.com/blogs/xx_factor/2013/07/01/having_a_baby_in_the_u_s_costs_a_lot_of_money_especially_if_you_actually.html

The average cost for a normal delivery is $30,000. If you don’t have insurance who can afford it? This is insane.

People without good prospects and without hope for a better future tend not to reproduce.

Socialism is suicide.

I guess you are making up for them. I had three boys, but times were better then. My kids were young during the Reagan years!

I cost 800 dollars back in 76. That was about the price of my first car.

The young have kids but don’t get married. Uncle Obama has the taxpayers pony up the expenses.

Exactly, they have no confidence they will be able to keep a marriage together and have few prospects for good employment.
