CIA Under Fire for Failure in Iraq
The Washington Free Beacon ^ | 07/01/14 | Bill Gertz

Posted on 07/01/2014 9:13:40 AM PDT by Enlightened1

“This is an absolute intelligence failure on the part of the CIA,” said Bill Cowan, a former Special Forces officer who worked until recently as a contractor in Iraq.

During U.S. military operations in Iraq, military intelligence agencies set up robust spying—both human and electronic—throughout Iraq that provided a clear picture of the insurgents, including the former Saddam Hussein military officials who currently are a major component of the IS operation.

However, with the Obama administration’s decision to pull out all troops, the military intelligence coverage was removed at the end of 2011.

“With all military intel out of the picture, the CIA takes primary responsibility for HUMINT activities in Iraq. Where were they? No interaction with tribal leaders who probably watched the build up? No interaction with the [northern Kurdish] Peshmerga? The agency isn’t on the radar screen, but they should be.”

Gosh, you’d think the US would at least ask for progress reports from the maniacs funded, trained and armed by our government.

Is it a failure of the CIA or is this just what Brennan and Obama wanted (i.e. the establishment of the Caliphate).

The CIA basically died as a spy agency, when the Sunni Buddy of our Sunni faux potus became the director.

How many agency and asset boots on the ground around the world have been replaced with lesbos and gays getting nice salaries in the Agency and doing nothing to protect America since Obozo’s Islamic buddy became the director?

The CIA was still in Iraq?

Who knew? I had thought they had departed with all the rest of the US security forces.

Wouldn’t have mattered if they were on point and sending back reports on a regular basis. The Current Occupant now squatting in the White Hut would not have read or acted upon them anyway.

“CIA Under Fire for Failure in Iraq”

Well... they need to put their plane in a corkscrew maneuver like Hillary did.

I don’t think the CIA or DIA missed this offensive. I do think the Obama administration didn’t want to bring their failure to the attention of the world until absolutely necessary. It was too easy to track this group since they are all over the internet and we had lots of people telling us what was up.

I don’t understand the schizophrenic approach of the Admin?

On one hand they are blaming the CIA and at the very same time they are trying to arm ISIS in Syria? Everyone KNOWS that is where ISIS is coming from. Now we know where ISIS got all their financial support.

Even if CIA provided quality assessments on ISIS, what would Obama do with it? Nothing.

What a load of BS! This was NOT an intelligence failure. This was the plan!

We got rid of Saddam Hussein in order to destabilize Iraq. We supported Al Qaeda in Syria in order to destabilize that nation. We are arming and training ISIS so they can take advantage of the mess in both countries. This will provide a real jihadi base of operations in the Middle East from which the terrorists (with our help) can attack Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait and, finally, Saudi Arabia.

Once the jihadis have control of most of the Middle East, the American media can "discover" how horrible they are and the terrible atrocities they commit. Maybe the CIA can set up a nice false flag attack on American soil in order to justify World War 3.

This world war will convince the gullible idiots on our planet that only a one-world government ("A new world order" - George H.W. Bush) can stop any more world wars.

Then, the real darkness descends.

FWIW, those of us who have been following this closely, since being disenchanted with the US purposly overthrowing stable govs, aren't surprised. Remember the chemical warfare accusations against Syria? Our govs response was that the Syrian "freedom fighters" weren't capable of attacks like that, even though there was no proof against Assad. Well, now we know that the maniacs that the US trained, funded and armed is more capable than we are.

It's been a few weeks now. Does anyone understand why ISIS hasn't been blown off the face of the earth? Global civilization is threatened if ISIS techniques and trained fighters spread to the homelands of these fighters. (I doubt that I'm exaggerating)

Iraq is an example of Barack's misplaced priorities, as he wanted nothing to do with Bush's "problem".

Not seeing a radicalized Iraq as America's problem!
