Its really frustrating when Republican candidates say really dumb things that allow Democrats to come out sounding down-right sensible. Case in point: Rockingham County prosecutor Phil Berger, Jr., who is locked in a runoff fight with Greensboro pastor Mark Walker for the GOP nomination for North Carolinas Sixth Congressional District.
Berger recently gave Laura Fjeld, a former UNC system employee and the districts Democrat nominee, a chance to score some points:
(SNIP) We are going to put ourselves in the position to represent the people of the sixth district most effectively. And going to Washington and supporting leadership is one of the things that we can do to be effective members of Congress.
Cantor, Ellmers, McHenry and others have been going in to other NC primaries and taking sides like they did with Rouzer.
Establishment candidate Berger is running ads attacking immigration reform.
Well, this all is akin to shuffling the Titanic’s deck chairs. Why ride anyone about doing it the “right” or “wrong” way?
What needs changing is the game. Spiritual power is needed and that is going to mean sincere believers in God (according to Judeo-Christian heritage) to whom God has made a difference. Some odd characters may be identified that way.
