It’s a simple principle of universal suffrage. Once the people figure out they can vote largess for themselves from the public treasury, they do. A majority will ALWAYS vote for the party or individual who promises the most giveaways.

Most Republicans have no strongly held beliefs or principles. Compromise is easy when you don’t have core principles.
Democrats are emotionally engaged in a what for them is a noble cause. They do not compromise because they are believers in the cause.
Rats do not have convictions, they can screw the neighbors cat on TV and you won’t hear any criticism from their base or their leadership. They are a loose coalition of groups who normally we be fighting ea other but find a home built on empty promises and lies in the democrat party.
