Facility for undocumented kids opposed

The crisis is sparking heated debate in Washington, where critics claim the Obama administration’s immigration policies are to blame, including the DREAM Act, which defers deportation for some children.

Nearby residents who oppose the Escondido center said they’re concerned it will hurt property values, increase crime and cause other problems.

But some also decried the idea of federal tax dollars being used for such purposes, especially in their city.

“We want our City Council and the Planning Commission to push back to the federal government and adhere to the laws,” said Kitty Demry, who lives about a one-third of a mile from the proposed facility. “We don’t want an organization housed in our community with a huge number of uncertainties.

Southwest Key Programs already operates similar centers in Lemon Grove and El Cajon. During an open house Sunday night at the Escondido site, company representatives said their facilities are self-contained and not disruptive to the neighborhood. They said the center would bring 115 jobs to Escondido and will infuse $8.5 million annually into the local economy.

The Department of Homeland Security want to use a facility that was formerly nursing home to house illegal immigrant children in the city of Escondido, San Diego County, California.

There is a meeting tonight of the Escondido Planning Commission to approve rezoning the facility for this new use.

Right on, Kitty. They should begin with a transparent and open process that includes the community and the local elected officials every step of the way and ensures compliance with all local, state and federal laws — including local zoning ordinances.

=====================================

Obama factotum---the nauseatingly obsequious DHS Secy Jeh Johnson----cited a US law "requiring" him to care for these children.

Johnson is exploiting a law that was drafted to accommodate Iraq and Afghan children---not border violators from Cdentral America.

============================================

Congress should empower state governors, that in case of a mass illegal migration, they can authorize every sheriff, every police department, to utilize their state police, take custody of these individuals, give them short-term assistance, and start loading up their national guard planes and fly them back home...

Congress should demand that the tax dollars we send to Washington be spent in sending these children and their families back to their country of origin.

We should refuse to spend our tax dollars to feed, clothe, provide medical care, housing and education. It is not our job.

It must be more cost effective to send them back to their native land.

We can’t send them to Mexico. Mexico won’t take them because they are Honduran, Guatemalan, Salvadoran, or whatever. We have to fly them back to Central America. I think the plan was to flood us with Central Americans because they are harder to get rid of than Mexicans. The trains loaded with Central Americans heading towards Texas is all part of a plan. I also think Texas was targeted because 0bama wants to turn Texas into a red state. Call me a conspiracy nut if you want to.

Put them on small cruise ships. Take them back to a local harbor. Transfer them to a barge and leave them for the locals to take care of.

If theyre so anxious to use the old nursing home for a bunch of needy people why is it not used to house homeless American veterans ...

those illegal aliens should have been long gone by now, deported back to their own countries...

Trains loaded with Central America illegals heading to Texas is all part of a plan.....Texas was targeted because 0bama wants to turn Texas into a red state.

You got that right. All of it is indicative of Me-First Obama's complete and utter contempt for Americans---and America.

It's becoming clearer he cunningly usurped the highest office in the land with lies and subterfuge in order to further his own self-serving agenda......he holds no respect for our sacrosanct laws nor for the American way of life.

==========================================

The calculated plan appears to be to flood us with Central Americans.......because they are harder to get rid of than the Mexicans next door.

Nails it---there is massive collusion and conspiracy---this did not happen in a vacuum. What did Obama promise the corrupt Central American govts for dumping their citizens (future Democrat voters) into the US?
