State Sen. Evan Jenkins, a Republican, debuted a new positive television advertisement Friday that emphasizes the coal industry in his bid to unseat Rep. Nick J. Rahall II, D-W.Va., in the 3rd District.

“If Barack Obama had his way, none of this would exist,” Jenkins said in front of a mining operation. “Coal would be out of business, and so would West Virginia.”

The ad makes no mention of the incumbent. The rest of the spot plays up Mountain State imagery and industry.

I see this as a sign of confidence on the Jenkins campaign part. I’m hopeful about this race, more unnerved by the race to succeed Shelley Moore Capito, where we got a real lemon for a nominee.

How exactly did we nominate a lemon to succeed Capito? Mooney was clearly the conservative in the race, and he’ll win easily.

I’m not sure what you mean by “lemon” with respect to Alex Mooney.

I am unaware of Mooney having any problems other than the RINO Mayor of Charlotte endorsing the rat, he says because Mooney is a carpetbagger, I say because he (the Mayor) is a RINO who won’t endorse a conservative, he backed RINO Charlotte Lane in the primary.

The rats have a real candidate there (and a real candidate running for CD-1, the State Auditor, though he appears to have no chance) in former rat party Chair Nick Casey (and Mooney was the Maryland GOP Chair, amusing) but under no circumstances should Mooney lose.

So I have no idea what ‘ClintonFatigued’ is talking about. I was very glad to see Mooney win. He’ll be twice as conservative as Capito. Smart conservative constitutionalists.

Well, CF was right about Todd Akin being a lemon, he warned about him long before Akin stuck his foot in his mouth.

But I hope he’s wrong this time!! ;d
