The Most Outrageous Part of the Bergdahl Trade

By now you’ve heard about the prisoner swap of five Taliban commanders from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for Seargeant Bowe Bergdahl, who has been held by a Taliban-friendly group in Afghanistan since 2009.

Military reports and a platoon medic said that Sgt. Bergdahl had a history of deserting his post.

It’s no secret that President Obama has a history of governing more like an absolute monarch – accountable to no one – instead of a President accountable to the judicial and legislative branches. This latest incident is no exception or surprise, as confirmed by a recent revelation to Congress.

During a classified briefing to the entire House of Representatives on June 9th, White House officials revealed that between 80 and 90 Obama Administration staffers knew about the Bergdahl situation – while all 535 members of Congress were kept in the dark. Both Republicans and Democrats were unhappy with this report.

I think because the spineless bastards on the hill have let Obama get away with so much that we are going to end up with another “King”...

The new American “royalty” are much more dangerous than any Western royalty since long before the American Revolution. Most kings and queens, at least, have some pride in their country and an interest in not destroying it.

“I think because the spineless bastards on the hill have let Obama get away with so much that we are going to end up with another “King”...”

There are four major differences between the Nixon era abuses and those of today:

1) The current abuses of power are greater in both frequency and severity. Absolutely no respect for the Constitution is in evidence.
2) The national media was doing its job to uncover and publicize the abuses. As a result public opinion shifted against a popular President who one reelection in a landslide in 1972.
3) The leadership of the President’s party recognized the damage being done to the nation and went to the President demanding his resignation. In the current situation the Democrat leaders are publicly condoning and supporting the abuses of power.
4) Most citizens of the country were united in their love of the nation, respect for its laws and institutions, and proud of the uniquely American culture. Today we live in a multicultural nation without a common understanding of our heritage and great apathy in the body politic toward government and the law. It is very possible the majority of the people in this country do not understand the concept of individual liberty, preferring the leash of an imperial government to freedom to choose one’s destiny and the personal accountability it demands.

“When do we start using that second amendment thing?”

Good question.

The events at Lexington-Concord were “righteous shots”.

Freedom in the US only lasted from 04/19/1775 to 04/19/1993.

Or Pharoah. Unfortunately for us, there is nobody in Congress willing to step up and demand that he “let the people go”.

When do we start using the second amendment thing.

Been wondering that myself for the last two years. He is building and arming a "civilian military force" that will surpass a shrinking Military - giving Military equipment to the local police and country sheriff departments.

They know that the military won’t follow his orders to shoot civilians.

Well, Cruz is in the Senate, and Trey Gowdy in the House is doing a pretty good job. But that isn’t enough, we need a whole lot more of them!

I’d agree Cruz/Gowdy are two that have been worth electing.
