Lost Lerner Emails Mirror Nixon's 18 1/2 Minute Gap

Scandal: The IRS descends into criminal enterprise, with word of a 26-month gap of lost emails from the very period it was illegally targeting Tea Party groups. Computer crash? Try obstruction of justice.

Just as the claim that President Nixon's secretary, Rose Mary Woods, inadvertently hit the "erase" button instead of "pause" gave impetus to the drive to impeach Nixon, so too should the IRS announcement that it can't find two years of Lois Lerner's emails lead to a criminal investigation of this administration and creation of a select committee.

In April we wrote, "Lois Lerner Should Go To Jail." We think so now more than ever and also that she shouldn't be the only one to be measured for an orange jumpsuit. As in Watergate, this fish rots from the head.

We are reminded how, during his Arizona State University commencement speech in 2009, President Obama noted that ASU had refused to grant him an honorary degree and "joked" that "President (Michael) Crowe and the Board of Regents will soon learn all about being audited by the IRS."

The joke was not funny then and is less funny now. It was a predictor of administration behavior. Lerner's knowledge of and participation in planning to use the IRS as a political weapon, in coordination with the White House, is why she twice invoked the Fifth Amendment in her congressional visits, even as she was cooperating — or is it coordinating? — with Eric Holder's Justice Department.

President Nixon had a Washington Press Corps that loathed and hated him.
President Obama has a Washington Press Corps that loves and obeys him.

See the difference?

I don’t think it is “dragging” Nixon’s name through the mud.
Those with the ability to reason, will understand that the only difference between the MEDIA “then” and “NOW”, is the media then set out to hammer away and destroy a president.
Today’s media will merely follow the party line and find a way, however off the wall, to talk away any misstep, disaster, betrayal, and lying of today’s regime.
I, personally, have always believed that President Nixon was brought down due to the propaganda spewed forth from the Joesph Goebbels school of journalism. Our present regime is protected by the same “journalism”.

It took time to get a special prosecutor for Nixon and all his men. It'll take time to get a special prosecutor in this time too..

If you want to compare this to another former President, try this instead:

Paul Sperry of WorldNetDaily reported on the missing White House emails of Al Gore and how the entire email archive process was tainted during the Clinton-Gore campaign financing scandal investigations.

The Democrats have done this play before, and gotten away with it once already.

Really, destroying evidence is against the law - - might take a while to get them, but it'll happen. And you're right - not with Holder - he's shamed his office. There's nothing about 'justice' in that office now.

Easily Holder will go down in history as the worst AG the country has ever had... and hopefully the worst we'll ever have... but that said, there's plenty of time to get people who destroyed evidence.
