NATO Secretary General concerned about reports of escalation of the crisis in Eastern Ukraine
NATO ^ | 13 Jun. 2014 | NATO

I am concerned about reports that pro-Russian armed gangs are acquiring heavy weapons from Russia, including Russian tanks. We have seen reports that Russian tanks and other armoured vehicles may have crossed the border into eastern Ukraine. If these reports are confirmed, this would mark a serious escalation of the crisis in eastern Ukraine.

I continue to urge Russia to complete the withdrawal of its military forces on the border with Ukraine, to stop the flow of weapons and fighters across the border, and to exercise its influence among armed separatists to lay down their weapons and renounce violence. We call on the Russian Federation to meet its Geneva commitments and cooperate with the government of Ukraine as it implements its plans for promoting peace, unity and reform.

He was “concerned” about the original occupation, wasn’t he?

What can Europe do? With the oil supply from the ME under the threat of war, how can they risk the oil supply from Russia?

Besides that, Ukraine is not in NATO. And Turkey is. Turkey could end up involved in this mess if Kurds get frisky.

Sounds like NATO has gone into Wag The Dog mode. Maybe they'll find evidence of WMDs or something.

Yes, of course. Why is NATO pushing defenseless Russia around. The Russians only want peace, without the interference of George Soros or Monsanto.

Grinding my teeth does not help as I remember the 2008 Obama Europe campaign travel against the “Cowboy” Bush’43 and the post-election “Apology” tour with all of those discussions and speeches of how the US would be a kinder and gentler nation. SoS Clinton’s reset button of infamy must have been like a red flag to Putin and the missed opportunity of the Iranian unrest in 2009 sealed this Administration’s reputation as the subsequent events of Iran nukes, NK nukes, Bugout from Iraq and all of the most recent blunders.

We have 2+ years left of this catastrophe called Obama and I wonder (FEAR) how much more damage he and his syncopates can and will do! May God help us!

Obama is too busy playing golf this weekend to be concerned about what is going to happen in Europe and Iraq. Maybe John Kerry can get them to make nice.

Russia has the upper hand in Ukraine and Putin knows that Europe needs oil and gas. Obama has pretty much written Ukraine and Iraq off. We and our friends are pretty much screwed by the Public housing Mullah of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Look for the price of fuel going up next week because of Obama's foreign policy.

Great question. Energy price increases play into Russia's hand as well.
