Well, if Boehner does not seek it, unfortunately it goes to Whiplash McCarthy in terms of seniority, BUT he’s such a weak fraud I suspect Steve King or Raul Labrador could launch a credible run for it!
“Well, if Boehner does not seek it, unfortunately it goes to Whiplash McCarthy in terms of seniority...”

Whoa, hang on. The Speaker doesn’t go to the one with seniority. In fact, the Speaker doesn’t have to be a House member at all!
“The Speaker of the House is the presiding officer of the chamber. The office was established in 1789 by Article I, Section 2 of the United States Constitution, which states in part, “The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker...” The current Speaker is John Boehner, a Republican who represents Ohio’s 8th congressional district. The Constitution does not require that the Speaker be an elected House Representative, though all Speakers have been an elected Member of Congress.[1]”
We could have Newt Gingrich be Speaker. Or Mark Levin. or Tom DeLay (wouldn’t THAT be a hoot?). Or Eric Cantor, for that matter. (I may wish I hadn’t said that.)
Seniority? There’s dozens of Repubs with more seniority than McCarthy. It’s his job to lose because he’s part of the Boehner gang.
