The Obama administration largely bypassed the intelligence community to green-light the risky swap of five Taliban leaders for American Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, officials tell Fox News, as new details emerge about concerns with the deal at the highest levels of President Obama's team.

The more we hear about this — the more it seems that it was all a ruse to release the Taliban commanders.

I wonder if Flynn’s departure from DIA was caused by this?

Gee...I wonder what the military purge was all about these past 6 years.

It would be interesting to know if the CIA station chief in Afghanistan objected to this and if that was right before he was outed by the Obama administration.

Sort of a reverse Katyn Forest Massacre.

Wow... it’s worse than I thought. If the administration denies paying a ransom then that means they did in fact pay a ransom. What a bunch of idiots.

And now that the VA, IRS and Obamacare have been relegated to the back pages, give it a week and this will die also.

So today’s game is, what is the next scandal to take this off the front page?

I'm sure something will pop up before the weekend.

It looks like Obama thinks this deal was good for America’s long range interests. He also thought that if the GOP or others were involved, they would blow it up. Subsequent events pretty much confirms this. What is still open is what is correct? The future activities of the 5 released and a determination by a court martial for the soldier will tell us. Don’t know about you Freepers but I’m hoping for the best.

6 Dead because of Bergdahl? How about 8?

Via Michelle Malkin…

“Combat Outpost Zerok was almost overrun, multiple soldiers were wounded and PFCs Justin Casillas and Aaron Fairbairn lost their lives fighting that day,” the soldier told me. (I wrote about their deaths in my July 8, 2009 column, not knowing they were related to the Bergdahl mess.)

Is there an explanation why Bergdahl is the ONLY Taliban ‘captive’ to LIVE!

WH apologizes to Senate intel chief for prisoner swap secret

Feinstein told reporters that she received a call from Deputy National Security Adviser Tony Blinken on Monday evening apologizing for what the administration is calling an “oversight.”

“I had a call from the White House last night, from Tony Blinken, apologizing for it,” she said.

“He apologized and said it was an oversight,” she added.

Bergdahlian Rhapsody

Chorus: I see a little deserter of a man, Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango? Thunderbolt and lightning, Very, very frightening me.
(Guantanamo) Guantanamo (Guantanamo) Guantanamo, Guantanamo Figaro Magnifico.

Bergdahl: I’m just a talibani, nobody loves me.
Chorus: He’s just a talibani from an Idaho family, spare him his life from this monstrosity.

Obama: Easy come, easy go, let the taliban go!
Pentagon: Bismallah? No, we will not let them go.
Obama: Let them go!
Pentagon: Bismallah? We will not let them go.
Obama: Let them go!
Pentagon: Bismallah? We will not let them go.
Obama: Let them go!
Pentagon: Will not let them go.
Obama: Let them go!
Pentagon: Never, never let them go
Obama: Never let them go, oh. No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, mama mia, mama mia (Mama mia, let them go.)
Fox News has a devil put aside for me, for me, for me.

Thanks for bringing this backup.

Outing this man was probably a warning from Obozo’s thugs and thugettes in the Outhouse. “Dare to cross or expose us, and you might end up like Ambassador Stevens.”

“It would be interesting to know if the CIA station chief in Afghanistan objected to this and if that was right before he was outed by the Obama administration.”

No, he thinks it is a good deal for his interest/legacy. He said he was going to shut down Gitmo, so this gets him started. He gets the worst terrorists out this way, now sending the rest home (to kill Americans) will be easy, especially when Congress does nothing. These were supposed to be going to a prison, but obviously they are going free. This is SOP for this blemish on the US.

Bgill Jr.’s young friend was killed by an IED in that province. Makes me wonder just how many other deaths might have been because of Bergdahl.

Of course, his release was to get hussein’s good buddies back out into the battle. There is much more to this than is being publicized. There's much more to his trip there than to out the CIA guy. While he enjoys hopping a plane and his picture on the 6 o'clock news, there has been no reason given that absolutely required his presence there at this particular time in history. He went there to secretively meet with our enemies. Whatever was discussed and whatever concessions, it was to America's detriment.
