There comes a point where the Left’s calumnizing of conservatives, its endless quest to delegitimize ordinary words, and its determination to criminalize religious expression all combine to make me want to offend as many leftists as I can, in response, just for fun. But not only for fun: Deliberately choosing to offend them, and thus trying to shred their ideological straitjackets, is occasionally a necessary endeavor. We on the right must show that we need not cower; we can and must fight back.
In that spirit:
To 50-year-old men, 20-year-old females are indeed “girls.” Not women. Get over it.
If girls act like Lena Dunham’s character on Girls, they are sluts. Anybody with such a fetish for vile exhibitionism, and for public sex, is a slut. The boys whom the show’s main characters consort with, meanwhile — equally exhibitionist, equally casual about sex, and equally without scruples or decency — are scum. Or whatever other word you want to use to negatively characterize them. Even on a show on pay TV, their voyeuristic, shamelessly copulative behavior is intrusively vile.
Oh — and a message to Miss Fluke: Don’t ask us to pay for your activities, either. Sex may be your choice, but it is not our responsibility.
And if Lena Dunham or Sandra Fluke, or Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama, wants to tell us how to live, each one of them, including the girl and the once-badly-concussed older woman, is “bossy,” no matter what the whiners say. And if Obama thinks nobody should question him for being bossy, or indeed question his judgment or performance or (Lord forbid) his character, well, pace Jonathan Chait, Obama is arrogant. And it isn’t racist to say so. (Some of us thought George W. Bush could be arrogant, too.)
It’s also not racist to insist on photo IDs for voting. And it certainly isn’t discriminatory. Ditto for requiring work, education, or training for welfare recipients. Ditto for saying that illegal — repeat, illegal — aliens should not be on the dole.
And yes, I did say “aliens.” That is the precise, and precisely accurate, word for illegal immigrants. We won’t let the language be denuded any further just because somebody’s feelings got hurt. We long ago lost the word “gay.” The Left is now expropriating the word “marriage.” Several years ago, somebody tried to take away the perfectly wonderful “niggardly.” Well, I’m sorry, but they can’t have “alien,” too. And if Barack Obama happens to be miserly, then, well, he is niggardly, too.
Meanwhile, back to marriage: Many on the left say not only that the state should legally recognize just about any commitment somebody might decide to solemnize, but also that the state should penalize a private decision not to bake a cake or create a bouquet for a particular commitment ceremony. Now that should be grounds for civil disobedience. Hundreds or thousands of people should stand in solidarity with the baker. Maybe somebody should relieve the baker’s moral dilemma by baking a wedding cake and donating it to the happy couple in the baker’s stead, to protect the baker from the government-mandated work. Tell the state’s overreaching commissars to butt out, get lost, or even do unnatural acts.
As for me, I might not think the ceremony is a marriage, and I might even think there are legitimate religious objections to the entire relationship — but I’ll gladly wish the two happy individuals well and pray that they find God’s joy. What they do is their business, not mine, as long as they don’t ask for my imprimatur (or frighten the horses).
Speaking of horses, they are really effective when ridden by courageous redskins. Or maybe by fighting Irish. Those who are tough, fierce, and brave in battle might even provide a good nickname for an athletic team somewhere. I know that if I were trying to make my team seem hard to beat but wanted to stress manly virtues rather than tiger-like animalistic strength, well, I sure wouldn’t hesitate to choose Seminoles or Trojans or braves or even the fighting Cossacks. Then again, what do I know? In high school I was a Newman Greenie.
(Among other sports at Newman, I ran cross country — but, alas, I was never faster than a speeding bullet. Not even a speeding Washington Bullet, which would be a perfectly fine name for a basketball team.)
In a world where professional victims take offense even at the idea of teams named the Redmen (St. John’s, based not on skin but on uniform color) or Orangemen (Syracuse), perhaps the culture is too far gone into Hurt Feelings Chic for us ever to recover a sense of balance. Our colleges, for example, certainly aren’t inculcating in their students an open-mindedness toward other viewpoints, much less a reverence for the First Amendment or even the Constitution as a whole.
One of the worst realms in which freedom is curtailed, especially on campuses, is in the pursuit once known as “dating.” Nobody should minimize sexual assault, but when colleges (or the feds) go so far as to codify ordinary, confused, halting expressions of amorous interest, and to criminalize even the mildest expressions if found “unwelcome” by the recipient, then something is awfully wrong. By the standards on some campuses, the Beatles could be arrested for choosing the wrong girl to serenade with “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
Here’s better advice to anyone, male or female, who isn’t physically threatened or emotionally abused by somebody with what once was known simply as a “crush”: Just say no, with as much clarity and kindness as you can muster, and move along. And if you can’t move along, then maybe you’re the one who needs to get a life.
Which is what the Left legions of faux victims need to do, if they can’t bear to have anybody think or do anything that doesn’t please them: Get a life. And if your feelings get hurt, find someone to hold your hand.
The book “1984” is a good example of how controlling language controls thoughts. By controlling the language to its simplest terms, the government controls the thoughts of the people so that there is never dissent.
Total government control is the goal of everything the leftist/globalists are doing and this is the absolute opposite of individual freedom.
Control language = Control thoughts = Control people

Union elections require ID of some sort (even when voting by mail). And when a convention is held, registered Dems have to show ID to get in and vote, etc.
When you allow word meanings to change to suit political agenda’s culture loses every time.

Another word that has bothered me is “transgender” and all of the affiliate words like “cis”, and changing pronouns, etc.
These people are transvestites, unless they have had surgery, in which case they are eunuchs. I refuse to call anyone with a Y chromosome “she”.
