Where do leftists expect to live after they destroy civilization?
Elites don’t think their policies will destroy civilization. They think that somehow, in spite of evidence to the contrary, their policies will bring about some kind of utopia, or if not a utopia, then at the very least a level semi-classless society, with them still on top driving their Escalades, of course.
