Senator Dan Patrick said he will ask Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst and Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson for their support if he wins the Republican runoff for lieutenant governor Tuesday night.
The last 11 weeks have been a brutal runoff between Patrick and Dewhurst, the incumbent, filled with negative ads and attacks.Patterson, a primary opponent of both men, released Patrick's 1980s mental health records earlier this month.
Patrick called it a "low blow" and "shameful," blaming both Patterson and Dewhurst.
Despite that, Patrick said Tuesday that they are "opponents, not enemies," and that he would still ask them for support if he wins the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor.

These are divisive lies promulgated by a commie outlet of the lamestream media. Bible-based Conservatism and the Tea Party are ascendent in Texas.
Got out in the Texas deluge this AM to vote for TEA Party candidates in today’s run-off. Polls are open until 7:00 PM. One excellent reason to vote is to stamp out the dirty ads launched by GOPe candidates. They deserve a good thrashing for using Democrat tactics in this election cycle.
One good reason to vote for Dan Patrick is property tax reform. He has been working on this even before his time in the senate as a radio talk show host.
Lower the burden on individuals homes and raise the state sales tax so this burden can be distributed among all citizens..even illegal aliens.
Just back voting TEA! Whoohoo!
Got asked a lot of Qs I don’t remember in 12, like ‘did you vote in the R primary?’ (of course, why would I be voting in the R runoff??) ‘Are you going to vote in the R runoff?’
(Well, yeah, isn’t that why we’re all here today?)
Was there a democrat runoff in your precinct?
Each vote is particularly powerful in these primary run-off elections, because so pathetically few people bother.
This could come down to a few dozen votes in some races.
It's deplorable that we have to pay perpetual rent to government on property we own. If it were a very nominal amount for city services and roads, that would be one thing. But I'm paying the monthly rent of a small apartment!
My idea is a lifetime cap on property tax per owner per property, either as a percentage of a base value, or a fixed dollar cap.
I went to Angus when the rain stopped and voted TEA!
Yeah, I guess there was. There was a Ranger female voting right before me (R, of course) and I said YEAH! and one of the poll workers warmly and humorously reminded me no cheering at the polls.
Ranger chick was cool: drove a black ‘Stang, dressed in black, black holster with two extra clips for her ?Beretta? It was to short to be a Glock, I think.
Very exciting, felt like the Cruz/Dewhurst run-off.
Do we have a TX runoff thread yet? Hint, hint, Cotton! :)
So you’re saying you want a Cotton thread??
Woo hooo for voting TEA in Texas, indeed!
Y’all ALL get out and vote - in TX - the polls are open til 7 p.m. CST....
....GO VOTE TO GIVE DEWWORST THE BOOT!
ONLY GREAT THING about CA. is prop 13 but they are literally DYING
to GET RID of it, I have been quite stunned with the FULL RAT control
of both state houses they haven’t ripped prop 13 to shreds!!!!!
We love cotton threads! Reddest ya got! Please and thank you!
I got a bottle of Flat Creek Almond champagne - indescribable - that is grown, fermented and bottled right here on Lake Travis (what’s left of it).
Drop Trump, Cruz yes
Help a Cruz out, vote TEA!
Not a huge fan of Trump, either, but he is lately a big fan of Cruz. A good chunk of the indies and maybe a few rats would vote for the Don. So it’s a calculated, not dream ticket.
Dream ticket would be any combo of Cruz, Palin, West, Lee.
I expect the results will basically be known within a few minutes of the polls closing.
The early voting totals will be released and that will be an indicator of the final outcome
regardless of the actual percentages.
From another WFAA article:
Both campaigns expect to have an indication of who will win within minutes after the
polls close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday as early voting results are released.
Do we have a TX runoff thread yet?
I got ahead of myself, last week, had a mental blink and thought we were having our run-off, then.
I couldn’t even blame it on the wine ;) I guess I wanted my (early) vote to be counted...immediately ;)
I still need to try and find that champagne. It sounds yummmm.
Canyon Lake area got 4” of rain, since yesterday. The lake is up a foot....YAY!!!
