How about bring back the draft to include women?
JewishWorldReview ^ | May 27, 2014 | By Alicia Colon

Last January 2013, then Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta, ordered the Joint Chiefs of Staff to study the feasibility of opening all military jobs to women by 2016. This would include more than 200,000 jobs that make up the core of the ground-level combat force in the Army and the Marine Corps. Opponents of women in combat argue, rightly in my opinion, that the military's physical standards must not be compromised to expand access because our military's fighting effectiveness is at stake. Hauling 50 pounds of equipment while walking 20 miles is a standard that must not be demoted as it exemplifies routine combat challenges.

Meanwhile, Sage Santangelo, at 5'3", is fighting to become an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. At a petite 5'3'', Santangelo may not look like a combat fighter but the female second lieutenant has never let that hold her back from pursuing her dream of becoming an infantry officer in the Marine Corps so she said in an ABC News interview. I say-"So what?" I wish I was a foot taller so I'd be at my correct weight but that's not going to happen.

Would sure put a dent in that draft-eligible inequality problem.

The draft is a socialist tool, what we have now is the best way to fill the ranks. Anyone that supports the draft is in fact a socialist.

In the event of war that the people do not support the government would be unable to fill the ranks.

I would leave the country before I would allow my daughters to be drafted. Barring outright widespread invasion of the mainland, we still need somebody to keep civilization going.

While they might get drafted, it would be daughters of conservatives that got sent to the Russian Front in the next war.

Bet the farm on that.

Kartrashians would be desk sitters at some exotic location stateside.

It takes a lot of training to operate advanced weapons systems. After making that investment you want your recruits to stick around for the long haul. The draft is counterproductive in this environment.

‘Equality” isn’t about sharing the less savory obligations of males/whites/striaghts, only the perceived benefits.

The 0 administration will probably enact the first senior citizen draft soon for the front lines to eat the first round of bullets and ensure they don’t have to pay healthcare benefits at the same time. Jarrettwill get a billion dollar bonus for her ingenuity.

Charlie Rangal has been trying to reinstate the draft for years. So I know it’s a bad idea.

How about bring back the draft to include women? Ha. Like that's going to happen.

That's the only reference in this article to the draft, a throwaway line that served as a transition. The article has nothing to do with the draft, it's a discussion of the Democrat scheme to force the services to accept women into jobs that they are incapable of doing, and except for a few crazies, do not care to do

How does she justify that?

If the draft ever returns, they should draft all politicians and their families and put them in the front line.

Rangel wants the draft because he sees the absence of a draft as the reason why there aren’t anti-war protests like during the Vietnam War. He doesn’t see it as either a way to improve the military or to improve society (because some 18 year olds need their butts kicked in boot camp). Instead he sees it as a way to turn Americans against the military.
