"Real cause for worry: Facts on Hillary’s concussion" (by Dr. Brian C. Joondeph, MD, MPS)

Karl Rove created a stir with his recent suggestion that former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton may have suffered traumatic brain injury in December 2012.

Speaking at a conference in California, he noted, “Thirty days in the hospital? And when she reappears, she’s wearing glasses that are only for people who have traumatic brain injury? We need to know what’s up with that.”

Let’s ignore the media hyperventilating and look at what Rove actually suggested.

Secretary Clinton reportedly “fainted, fell and banged her head,” as The Daily Beast put it, suffering a subdural hematoma, or a hemorrhage between her brain and skull.

While surgery is sometimes needed in such cases, Clinton was “treated with blood thinners on Monday at a New York hospital to help dissolve a blood clot in her head,” CNN reported.

“Disabilities resulting from a TBI depend upon the severity of the injury, the location of the injury, and the age and general health of the individual,” says the NINDS.

And following TBI, “common disabilities include problems with cognition (thinking, memory, and reasoning), sensory processing (sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell), communication (expression and understanding).”

Clinton didn’t just bump her head. Her husband said last week that her injury was, “a terrible concussion that required six months of very serious work to get over.”

I was also concerned about a month ago when someone threw a shoe at her, and she scrunched up, turned totally meek and tiptoed around the lectern she was behind. It was total TIMIDITY on display...a complete withdrawal into herself despite being in front of a large crowd of people.

And the nonsense chirpy old biddy ranting!

"Was that a bat?! Was that a bat?! Is that part of Cirque de Soleil"

Which the media later described as witty, off-the-cuff quips.

What I saw was a set-up act to gain sympathy for Da Hill.

If so, then she should fire the script writers who had her scrunch down, walk around the lectern in the direction of the attack, turn her back to the attacker, and act with a "please don't hurt me" demeanor.

She was the epitome of a whipped dog, an abused female, in full cringe mode.

Fire that set-up team

I'm no fan of Rove, but I think in this case he was genius. He dropped the health bomb now and is taking the heat for it....but it doesn't matter because it isn't campaign season and he isn't affiliated (at least openly) with any Republican presidential campaign.

So why is it a genius move? Because it has succeeded in planting the seed in the public's mind. Now for the next two years, anytime Hillary looks tired in public or messes up a line in a speech (which is bound to happen with ANY candidate), the seed will take root in peoples mind and they will say, "Was she only tired? Was it just a verbal mistake? Or maybe there is something to that brain injury thing..."

Democrats have nobody else to run.

Hollywood and New York are full of actors willing to play the part. Let's see...Matt Damon, George Clooney, Ben Affleck, who else?

What about Donald Sutherland?

He's Canadian.

IIRC, he is a Canadian. But of course that had nothing to do with little barry bastard boy’s eligibility, being born in Canada, so why should it hinder any other domestic enemy?

As a political move, I agree that it was very smart.

That aside, the real issue is fact. Bill Clinton, master communicator, said of the event: “TERRIBLE concussion...6 MONTHS recovery...”

Anyone have an audio clip of his saying that?

“She turned her back to an attacker.

That single fact says so much.”

I don’t know,,, It wasn’t like someone was trying to punch or shoot her. I’d rather get hit in the back with a thrown shoe, than in the face or crotch! However, as I recall, she had a very delayed reaction, and the shoe was well past her by the time she turned.

The further revelations of the state of health enjoyed by Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, are no cause for concern on my part. What is cause for concern is that the Democrats, against all good judgment and advice, will probably attempt to go ahead and draft her for the nomination, and come out foursquare, all guns blazing, for her elevation to the Presidency.

Which should sit really well when Herself collapses onstage during a Presidential Debate in September 2016, while giving a non-answer to a softball question from the hand-picked leftist moderator.

I give the Democrats a nickel’s worth of free advice - find your back-up substitute for the now fading “front-runner”. You had no trouble at all finding a substitute in 2008.

You're not thinking clearly and just gave them more than an alloysteel nickel's worth of advice!

Watch for something like this to happen if she runs. She would get every Alzheimers-family's sympathy votes.

Disagree completely.

Bush did it right. He watched the direction of the thrower and was able to react to the next throw.

Turning your back to an attacker is both a sign of defeat and surrender to fate.

I want a president who is a fighter.

And what is never asked is whether she was drinking when she “fell”. She looks pretty wound up in a number of pictures over the years.

I didn’t say the sympathy vote for Herself would not be overwhelming. But how well would Terry Schiavo have done?

We do not need a vegetable to take root in the Oval Office.
