There is a problem with these cute fictional non-fiction articles - the headline and the first few paragraphs will help to perpetuate a lie.
It’s like putting up a billboard with big letters saying Israel Is An Apartheid State and then down at the bottom in smaller letters a line saying This Is An Example of Anti-Israel Propaganda.
If they scream it loud enough, a deluxe omelet, sans cooking, might land on their face when people twig the true content of the article. On the other hand, “if” might be a more appropriate word than “when,” so I see your point.
