There's a really excellent scene in this movie (which, notwithstanding your opinion of the lead character) is actually a good movie in and of itself:
The movie takes place in post-WW I Wales. Hugh Grant (Reginald Anson) is a British cartographer who suffers from a mild case of post-war PTSD. In the scene I'm referring to, there is a young Welshman with severe PTSD. During a bad electrical storm with loud thunder strikes, he goes into catatonic shock (NOTE: The British at that time more or less used the Welsh as cannon-fodder).
All of the villagers avoid going near the poor man, who is lying on the floor shaking, but Anson rushes in to help him. The others scoff at what Anson's doing, but he spits back at them, yelling (it's been a while) "This was me! This is how some of us came home!"
