Seventh VA office finds secret wait list — with over 200 veterans on it
hot air ^ | May 16, 2014 | Ed Morrissey

Yesterday, VA Secretary Eric Shinseki declared himself “mad as hell” over the allegations of wait-list fraud in Phoenix, where 40 veterans passed away before accessing medical assistance while the office falsified records. Shinseki also pronounced himself saddened by the consequences of the VA’s failures, and pledged to get to the bottom of them — and allegations at five other offices that arose from other whistleblowers

...

At nearly the same time as Shinseki testified yesterday, the Ocala News (Florida) reported that a seventh VA office in Gainesville had discovered a secret wait list that had 200 veterans waiting for medical care

...

Let’s not forget that the VA first found out about wait-list fraud more than a year ago, and again last fall. Shinseki’s very late to the party to declare himself “mad as hell” about it, and especially to pledge to take responsibility for reform

Vets wait 30 days and more.

Prisoners wait 24 hours or less.

What a country.

It seems that there weren’t this kind of scandal before the VA was constituted as a separate, cabinet level, department. Perhaps the first step should be the subordination to another agency to provide proper oversight.

If the older ObamaVAcare is crumbling, then how long will it take for this new and improved Obamacare to crumble?

If these two Federal Medical Programs were to be combined, say on Christmas Eve this year, would the surviving name be : “OBAMA VERY AWFUL CARE?”

There’s no way that these are isolated...all the VA hospitals are doing it.

Put it under DoD, and have active-duty military officers serve terms as administrators. The knowledge that this is what will eventually provide care to them and their buddies will provide a large incentive to have little tolerance for this crap.

“How to get on the wait list?”

Don’t you think being an old white guy is enough to get on the indefinite waiting list?

Reallly? And how would that serve to expose this kind of abuse? Just another level of bureaucracy to help cover everyone’e a$$ up the line. Just look at how Obama is “helping,” with a political operative being “assigned” to the problem. What’s really needed is an independent investigator with absolute power to get to the bottom of the criminal activity, and a fast track to a court of law to prosecute the offenders. McLame is an a$$hole, because he’s known what’s going on for years, but he is right that people need to go to jail (and he can go in with them for ignoring the situation).

Does nayone have a list of the seven so far ID’d. My husband is under VA. I tried to find it on the Internet, but it just becomes a convoluted mess.

There’s still the thug obama to deal with. He and his people are lawless. Inspectors General have been fired and have been politicized and do not do their jobs, among other things.

Oooohhh, I'll bet Shinseki's really pi$$ed now.

The man's been on the job longer than it took us to win WWII. I call that a "fail".

Far more than 7 now. Gainesville, FL. Cheyenne. San Antonio. Phoenix. Miami. Auditors have arrived at Chicago VAH. Internal audit ordered at Fayetteville, AR VAH.
If you would disclose a specific VAH I may be able to find out more. But suspect all will be “audited.”

It is obvious that the Democrats are stalling Veterans in order to use the money to buy votes.

Thanks. I've always had my suspicions about whether or not they are actually treating my husband. I can't always go with him. He seems OK, but I would rather pay to have him seen by someone else. I will if push comes to shove.
