The United Nations Environment Program aims to dramatically increase its role in running the world according to nebulous environmental principles, according to a strategic plan that will be presented to the U.N. General Assembly this fall.
The principal objective of the plan is to catalyze a transition to a radical new global green economy, based on low-carbon, low-emission, resource-efficient and equitable developmenta theme that will dominate the opening of the General Assembly in September, and culminate in yet another U.N.-sponsored summit of world leaders a year later, to endorse what the organization calls its post-2015 development agenda.

Over time I have come to the conclusion that the inclusion of the word global in a topic, is about the best way possible to tell if an issue is problematic or not. The inclusion is an almost certain deal breaker for me.

I think we FReepers know their goals have nothing to do with the environment.

I'll not read the article, but will guess that it involves some sort of massive wealth transfer from the US to 3rd world dictators.
Am I right?

“In all, the plan heralds a major increase in the heft and authority of a relatively small (2014-2015 budget: about $630 million) U.N. organization that little more than three years ago was considered a major administrative and financial mess.”
Just a wealth transfer to the UN, I think.

"The United Nations Environment Program aims to....
1. levy a tax on its global community by any means
2. levy a tax on its global community by any means
3. levy a tax on its global community by any means...
CONCLUSIONS....
[snip](There are no experimental data to support the hypothesis that increases in human hydrocarbon use or in atmospheric carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are causing or can be expected to cause unfavorable changes in global temperatures, weather, or landscape. There is no reason to limit human production of CO2, CH4, and other minor greenhouse gases as has been proposed (82,83,97,123).0,""We also need not worry about environmental calamities even if the current natural warming trend continues. The Earth has been much warmer during the past 3,000 years without catastrophic effects. Warmer weather extends growing seasons and generally improves the habitability of colder regions."
"As coal, oil, and natural gas are used to feed and lift from poverty vast numbers of people across the globe, more CO2 will be released into the atmosphere. This will help to maintain and improve the health, longevity, prosperity, and productivity of all people."
"The United States and other countries need to produce more energy, not less. The most practical, economical, and environmentally sound methods available are hydrocarbon and nuclear technologies.".....
