It is a tremendous opportunity to generate revenue.

While the Post didn’t attack their peers, their break from the established narrative will make them a target.

As a former newspaper editor, I like your attitude. With print withering on the vine, there's no reason the Post shouldn't go after the New York Times, for example. Give 'em hell, revel in their mistakes. Get yourself a by-God newspaper war going. Sells papers.

You're exactly right, they're just like the Taliban and Al qaeda, when they run out of enemies to kill, they will turn on each other.
