President Shimon Peres revealed on Monday that three years ago he reached a peace agreement with Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Speaking to Channel 2 News in a special interview on the occasion of Yom Ha’atzmaut (Independence Day), Peres said that his contacts with Abbas were made on behalf of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, but that at the last minute, Netanyahu changed his mind and the agreement fell through.

OK, so now Clinton, Bush and Peres have reached agreements with Arafat, Abbas, and Abbas. Who knows, if it wasn't for Sam Adams we'd have reached an agreement with the King, it's not like we didn't try for years. Though not as many years as Israel. Now what.

Peres is kind of senile, so that makes his memory suspect. But he's Obama's (and the American left's) favorite Israeli, so the story could have been made up by someone else and given to Peres as an attempt to tone down the US regime's anger at Israel's alleged "intransigence" with regard to the latest attempts at "peace talks."

Didn't know that Peres had the authority to negotiate with Abbas and reach "peace agreements" with him.
