Nobody has seen anything yet. Just wait until the economy goes full-tilt crazy after Obama leaves and the lies don’t hold together. State and local governments going broke, massive government subsidies of union graft go unattended and 8-10 Million NYC’ers find out the bubble burst.
This is just a taste.

Who is John Galt?
This sounds like it could be in a chapter from Atlas Shrugged.

New York, New York, it’s a wonderful town!
The Bronx is up and the Battery’s down
The people ride in a hole in the ground,
New York, New York, it’s a wonderful town!

They won’t panic because we can handle events without falling apart.

This reminds me of the first episode of James Burke’s fantastic “Connections” series from 1978.

The train was shaking and the cars in the front started tilting to the right, said Melissa Delgado, 33. I heard a pang and then a screech and then the train came to a halt. I have experienced pangs before, that is I have felt them, but never in my life have I ever heard a pang. Must be an east coast thing.

Considering the huge number of tracks and trains in the NYC, they have a supreme safety record. At rush hour, they run every 2-5 minutes

Passengers described a loud screeching noise just before the train came to an abrupt stop. Why is this news? I experience this kind of thing just about every time I ride the MTA.

I think my new favorite song about NYC is “Empire State of Mind”.I like Alicia Keys’s parts...I have no use for the felon Jay Z’s parts.

One can have a pang of guilt, but I didn’t know they made noise. (Journalists!)

how exciting, a derailment. At least it’s not the middle of summer,,,er,,,global warming.
Now on to reality....
I was watching Mad Men season 6 the other day. Back in 1968, Ms Osborne was looking at an apartment in the upper East side. RE agent said the property’s value will go up when the 2nd AVE train will be built.
Was the 2nd AVE line ever built?

I have long believed that - if he came to life in the last thirty years or so - Tom Sawyer would have loved The Grateful Dead.
