The largest earthquake in 34 years (4.8 magnitude) hit Yellowstone on March 30, 2014. I can't find the magnitude data on the 1980 earthquake, so I don't know how big it was.

The Yellowstone shaker in 1980 hit on February 22. On May 18 (82 days later), that same year, Mt. St. Helens erupted.

Now we have a story on Mt. St. Helens is ramping up activity again, shortly after the Yellowstone quake. Could St. Helens blow within the next two months like it did in 1980?

Well wouldn’t Obama love that? He’d have troops in the streets in every corner in American within 24 hours. For our safety of course.

I like how they say no eruption is imminent, yet most major geological events are still complete surprises. ;-)
