Martin McGuinness blamed the dark side of policing for Gerry Adams detention during the election campaign and insisted his leader could have been questioned without being arrested.
He said the questioning centered on books Mr. Adams had written and what others said about himthose maliciously and vehemently hostile to the peace process.

Maybe Congressman Pete King (Sinn Fein-NY) can post bail for his buddy.
He’s a little pre-occupied with gangster Grimm.
Frankly, I think Grimm’s “situation” is the proverbial ham-sandwich indictment. Notice how it came down immediately after the filing deadline for Congress in NY closed. I’ve seen that dog and pony show before from the Just-Us Department.
I have no doubt the timing is to help Democrats.
The secret recordings that led police to Gerry Adams' door
An interesting tid-bit hiding in the middle of the article:
Two years ago, when a judge first ruled that police should be given transcripts of IRA veterans discussing the murder of Jean McConville, Gerry Adams insisted: I have nothing to fear from any of this.
SNIP
Senator John Kerry, representing Massachusetts in the Senate, called on the then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to intervene, saying it would be a tragedy if this process were to upset the delicate balance that has kept the peace in Ulster.
I wonder if Hillary - that protector of women - helped Kerry in a cover-up of the murder of a woman.
Even if there was irrefutable evidence that Gerry Adams had been involved in this crime, his prosecution would be nothing more than a song and dance. Under the terms of the "Good Friday" accords he'd be granted an immediate pardon for any crimes that were committed before a certain date anyway.
Not like his brother:
Adams has recently had to deal with controversy closer to home when he was forced to distance himself from his brother.
Liam Adams was sentenced last year to 16 years in prison for raping his own daughter when she was a child. Prosecutors decided not to prosecute Gerry Adams over allegations of withholding information from the police on the issue.
So much for protector of women - quite disgusting.
Fascinating side note: I read the UK Daily Mail on-line every morning and though they are reporting this story, no comments are allowed on any of these posted stories. Hmmmm......
That’s too bad. I’ve followed this story for many years and have several books on the subject. It’s pretty clear from the evidence that Adams ordered the murder of this innocent mother of 10. I do believe the guilt-crazed and totally-crazed late Dolours Price testimony on this subject. It is horrifying and straight out of The Informer and Ryan’s Daughter with Sean O’Casey thrown in for good measure.
Gerry Adams has admitted that his father was into the same act as the brother. Which makes you wonder about Adam’s private behavior. After all, he’s a buddy of Clinton. That family is total scum.
So investigating murders committed by terrorists is “the dark side of policing”?
Not significant - it's standard practice on British media websites for any story involving individuals who might face criminal prosecution. That's because the newspaper is legally the 'publisher' of any comments, and is liable for anything thus published which might subsequently be held to be prejudicial to a fair trial. The law on contempt of court is much stricter in the UK than the US.
Oh, did not know that...thank you.
