Yup. Figured that out 1 minute and 18 seconds before you posted. See #29.

If there are two dice, wouldn’t the that depend on what combination equals seven on top? 3 & 4 or 6 & 1 on top would have different bottoms than 5 & 2.
Stupid question.

I always enjoyed getting "experimental" with my AP kids. It used to be a safe thing to do... but not in today's America.

(example: I gave an extra credit assignment - "defy gravity" for at least 10 sec, and no more than 3 min... no touching or interference with the object after the timer begins. No electronics allowed. 1 point per second over 10. Some wonderfully creative ideas they came up with. Most simply used a weight from a scale-balance. Among my favorites: encase the weight in an ice cube attached to a string, and place it in front of a hair dryer that was turned on... several memorable Rube Goldberg contraptions... etc etc etc)

The top of the page says Copyright 2001 Wadsworth, a division of Thomson Learning, Inc.

Something's fishy right there.

A wiser teacher who simply HAD to drive this lesson home would simply use a test from a more distant culture, and not one that is so, ahem, "sensitive" (read: programmed to take offense at ANY and ALL times)... maybe from India or Iceland or New Zealand.

1. The ratio of width of the National flag of India to its length is A. 3:5 B. 2:3 C. 2:4 D. 3:4

2. Rabindranath Tagore's 'Jana Gana Mana' has been adopted as India's National Anthem. How many stanzas of the said song were adopted?
A. Only the first stanza
B. The whole song
C. Third and Fourth stanza
D. First and Second stanza

3. 'Natya - Shastra' the main source of India's classical dances was written by
A. Nara Muni
B. Bharat Muni
C. Abhinav Gupt
D. Tandu Muni

4. 'Dandia' is a popular dance of
A. Punjab
B. Gujarat
C. Tamil Nadu
D. Maharashtra

5. The words 'Satyameva Jayate' inscribed below the base plate of the emblem of India are taken from
A. Rigveda
B. Satpath Brahmana
C. Mundak Upanishad
D. Ramayana

Same effect: a bunch of very smart kids can feel very dumb when asked to show skills and knowledge in a culture they are unfamiliar with. No need for getting Jesse and Al's panties in a bunch.

If I read it right then the superintendent met with a group of people and then prayed. Why is everyone protesting the test and not the prayer. After all, liberal groups always claim a separation of church and state.

No, if there's a 6 on top then there's a 1 on the bottom. If there's a 5 on top, there's a 2 on the bottom.

Is there any natural law why that would be so? I can make a cube with any number on any side. Two cubes don't even have to be identically marked.

Disclaimer: I haven't seen those cubes for many decades.

Sure you can, but legal dice must have opposite faces add up to 7.
