Roe and Gay Marriage
American Thinker ^ | 05/01/2014 | J.R. Dunn

Behold a runaway judiciary. One that is forcing an unwanted socio-sexual innovation in violation of tradition, religious values, and simple logic on the country at large, with the support of media, academic, and political elites with no evident regard for the consequences.

Gay marriage? Yes – and in detail. But in fact, we’ve seen the same scenario before, within living memory of many AT readers.

Legalized abortion was forced on the country in 1973 by identical means. There was no public debate, no crisis that had to be met, no reason to establish it by legal duress except that the liberal elites felt like it and thought they could get away with it.

The legalization of abortion was carried out with the full cooperation and encouragement of the Burger Supreme Court bench. We shall never know the details concerning this. We know it was the case because legalization was actually argued twice before the court. Attorneys Sarah Weddington and Linda Coffee had in fact won the original case in Texas against restrictive state abortion laws but carried on to the Supreme Court anyway. Their 1971 effort to plead the case was so disastrous that the justices allowed them a do-over and rescheduled the case for October 1972.

The two decisions – Roe v. Wade and the often overlooked Doe v. Bolton – were handed down on January 22, 1973. Both were written by Harry Blackmun, a freshman justice of little experience or legal knowledge. A pure example of the dangers of cronyism, Blackmun was on the Supreme Court bench solely because he was a grade-school pal of Chief Justice Warren Burger.

Personally I think the lib judges banning voter ID laws is WAY more dangerous and sweeping than their initiatives making same sex marriage and abortion as rights.

In other words, they are making voting without identification a new right (calling it an old right)

Why?

Because it allows Dems to steal more elections and pack the courts with MORE liberal judges who will impose their own wills on us, yes on guns, abortion, gays , transsexuals.....

Grahamnesty voted to confirm both Obama’s SCOTUSes yet he he is sailing to renomination..

Or the children, depending on the venue.

It takes a village, community, communism...for poverty (fiscal and moral) to be completely common.

Of course, when we behave, we can have our beer, NFL and all the sex we want with everyone we desire.

The candidates against Graham are weak, the guy running in 2nd place, State Sen. Lee Bright, would probably be easy pickings for Graham even if a runoff is forced.

SC conservatives needed a top tier candidate, like Joe Wilson.

One prong of the prolonged multi-pronged attack on this country.

Sacking points of control is a priority.

We live in a world of the Firesign Theatre’s “Everything You Know is Wrong” I am beginning to see parallels to my time in Baghdad, where I observed that the abnormal was normal. These are certainly interesting times in which we live. Pray for guidance.

No.....nothing in more dangerous than “homosexual” marriage. It will affect the worldview of all children in the culture...when the concept is normalized—which will happen if “Just Law” advocates it.

It will eject Reason and Logic (Natural Law Theory /Christianity) from the minds of the children exposed to this concept as “normal”. It will normalize paganism and Satanism and sodomy as “Virtue”. It will eject our “Justice” (virtue) system and base it on an irrational basis. Just Law in USA has GOT to be “Right Reason according to Natural Laws”—based on OBJECTIVE TRUTH.

You throw out Truth/God with laws like this and with abortion. Abortion is unconstitutional also. But, abortion, you could hide from children in a way. Homosexual “marriage” will be in their face 24/7. It will be plastered all over the culture and absorbed (like all culture) and even Christian children will not be protected from that irrational concept of sodomy as “Good” and a “Right”. It destroys the concept of Virtue and Christianity.

It took thousands of years to get rid of normalized “ideas” embedded in the worldview of people-—like “slavery or child-sacrifice or pederasty is bad”. Christianity took hundreds of years to “affect” the minds of people where, like in Afghanistan, harems of boys are “normal”. We have to wait for a generation of NEW kids-—not sodomized ones to “change” the embedded emotions and “thinking” of the people.

Emotions are embedded in irrational stages when children ‘see’ their cultures...it is why Leftists are so irrational—their embedded emotions of “Good” will rule Reason/facts. Facts don’t matter....their Reality is irrational.

That is why “schools” are the first target of Leftists-—(John Dewey)—to control the “group think” of the masses...to create dependency on “triggers” which are controlled by media/movies/politicians. These “triggers” elicit emotions from early childhood. Children are conditioned to “instant gratification” (a destruction of Virtue).

Words can set off the “proper” response in the immature/puerile masses who were conditioned to never be adults and responsible for actions.....it is the Wundtian psychology developed in the 1800s to control worldview of the masses and deChristianize the masses.....which led to Pavlovian Conditioning in our schools....then BF Skinner finished the job.

Without Classical Education there is no “thinking”. Children are never given the tools to “think” with-—just being programmed with Common Core and kept from the ideas of the geniuses in Western Civilization so they will be ignorant and believe anything they are told.

One of the biggest stumbling blocks is judges who refuse to acknowledge “rational” arguments as “rational”.

I do not know how many decisions I have read with the words”... there is no rational basis to deny...”

Of course there is. The very definition of marriage is rational.

Because its a definition.

You do not insist that an illegal immigrant can vote because there is no rational basis to deny it: except for that pesky definition of “citizen”. [best I could come up with on short notice...]

Not long ago the NAACP held a rally against IDs for voting. It is interesting that the NAACP demanded that all people in the rally have photo IDs to prove who they were.

I seem to recall Burger admitting in his autobio that there was no legal basis (Roe v Wade)and that it was a matter of the justices opinion.

The reality side of me tells me that this major and key battle is lost to the libs/homos.

Only one side showed up for a fight, both armed and prepared to fight, them.
In this fight arguments are weapons, rational sounding arguments and results of studies and data.(that is how libs fight and win)

Sure, we may hold a political gun to a few Republican heads and get them to continue to say “I just believe in traditional marriage because, well, humm, ahhh, that is how I was raised...but I don't pass judgement on others....” but it wont convince anyone, anymore than it did the past 10 years.

As time goes on even that wont be possible, the lib s will have gay behavior fully normalized and those isolated few opposing it will be treated as lepers as Donald Sterling is now, or that Mozilla exec who got fired for opposing same sex marriage.

The future looks grim.

The libs have a standard argument for that:
Voting, like abortion, is a absolute right’. Those other things like owning a gun is not a right so requiring ID for them is fine.

they repeat this day after day.
